Suggestions on Enkei RPF1 - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Ok guys so here's the deal. I'm thinking about going with black RPF1's on my asphalt frs. I was thinking about going with 17x7 or 8 on the front and 17x9 on the rear.

What do you guys think about the color combo?

Other size suggestions, colors, tires, offset, suspension/alignment, etc?

Also I was thinking about doing lowering springs since I would rather not fork out the money for coilovers (saving for engagement ring).
1.25" front drop, 1.75" rear, any foreseeable complications?

Sorry I don't have much experience with sizing up on wheels.

Do 17x9 square in +35, for tires go with michlen pilot super sports in 255 or so

+1 to the square setup....otherwise you will have a bit of under steer which is no bueno.

Will you be auto-x or going to the track....or just a DD?

I need to find a set in SBC... 17x9 +35, anyone have leads? Would appreciate it

I would buy from them, but they don't have the SBC finish.

Thanks a lot guys. Yeah I really like the sbc too but they're a bit more expensive. Right now it's just my DD but I'll probably get into a little autox. I'm not big on stancing and all that so I just want a basic looking set up as long as I can do it without any rubbing. Tire rack has sbc's too btw but I don't think they're in stock til June.

The BRZ doesn't need 9" wide wheels or tires, sadly. Despite how good some people might think they look. 8" is wide enough, can run 225, 235 or even 245 (on a tire that runs wide like Mich. PSS) easily if you eventually add power.

If daily driver and maybe once and awhile auto-x.. Should a square setup be good?

I would say that if only DD, then staggered setup would be fine. If you are doing auto-x or track, you will encounter situations where under steer could be bothersome with a staggered setup.

With as little power as our cars have, no need for wider rear tires than front unless for purely cosmetic reasons.

Man I really love the sbc color but they're so much more expensive. Cheapest I've seen them was like $325 per wheel.

Anyone see any problem if I went 17x8 or 17x9 +35 with a 1.25" front drop and 1.75" rear drop?
