The next morning I got a lot of strange looks from the families stopped there when I climbed out to avail myself of the welcome center's free coffee.

Must be in the FRS manual only. Checked mine and did not find anything other than don't cover up a seat which has a heater.

Another twist on this subject. If by chance you were going to sleep in your car because you were drunk and unable to drive ... make sure your keys are not on you. Place them outside the car in a safe spot. In Arizona .... you can be charged with a DUI even if you are not driving and passed out in your car with your keys in the ignition or on you. Not sure about Canada or other states.

I remember a news story about a guy who rode his motorcycle to a local bar about a mile from his house and didn't feel comfortable driving home, so he walked the bike home instead. A cop gave him a ticket for DUI. He took it to court and lost. The judge said he was "in control" of a motor vehicle, even if he wasn't riding it at the time.

When I was in college there was a similar story about a guy who got drunk at a party, so he left his car and borrowed a friend's bicycle to ride home. A city cop gave him a DUI for that even though it wasn't actually a motor vehicle.

It doesn't really matter if you try to do the right thing.

My father in law. He drank too much. Pulled over in a store parking lot to sleep it off. Officer found him. Woke him up and because his keys were in his pocket. DUI.

Since the odds of me ever cracking that tome are nil...give us the Coles notes?!

I have mental image of it reading " Owner should check birth certificate. If Born in Asia this won't be a problem invite a friend. I born in NA, get a hotel room".

When I first got the car I remember thinking I bet I could sleep in there (I'm not a big dude 5'10) I tried to crawl in the trunk and pulled my back pretty bad. I wouldn't recommend the trunk for anyone a similar height or taller. Much better off in the passenger seat.
