I've taken out my BRZ for the first time in a week. It has an exhaust leak right now. So obnoxiously loud it sounds totally like a STi now. haha

Getting it fixed tomorrow morning.

Quick question, how would I know if I have an exhaust leak exactly? What would I need to look or hear for? I installed my new exhaust and i'm about to install my test pipe so I don't exactly know what I have to look or hear for if I do have a leak...

The sound gets like three times louder and the car loses power. It's like super loud but not going anywhere. hahaha

Mine is leaking because I put the paper gaskets when installing. Didn't have a chance to get the metal gaskets, so I put the paper ones.

I do a lot of canyon runs every week, so the paper gaskets must have been burnt away. Thus, the muffler and midpipe ends are hitting each causing the leak.

I'm swapping out the existing one for Borla tomorrow morning, so it's all good. The Borla one comes with these little tighteners so no need for the metal gaskets.

Let me know how those work out. Been thinking about doing the same myself, but I have to run through my current stuff first.

Couple options.
1) Look under the car for condensation dripping out of the joints.
2) Park next to a wall and rev a little. You'll be able to hear the sound bouncing back at you.
3) Jack up the car. Put a shop vac exhaust up one tailpipe. Block the other tailpipe with a towel. Get under the car and spray soapy water on the joints. Bubbles = leak.
