guys, im about to get rims for the 86 and even if i have lowering springs already, i dont plan to install them.. would it look good if not lowered? lalo na kung staggered? parang bagay ata mababa lalo na if staggered yung setup.. or di naman? and one last thing, the rims im looking at is +48, di kaya siya pasok masyado and would hit the shocks? i prefer not to use spacers also

looking forward to your inputs, thanks!

@pcuerpo,

Other than the offset, what are the other specs of the wheels you are looking at (size, front width, rear width, front offset, rear offset) and what are the specifications of the tires you are considering (section width and aspect ratio) as these will determine how the stance of your car will look like and whether it will look good on stock suspension or not.

Will send you a PM with samples.

I took a peek under my 86 and saw the holes for the grommet. Unfortunately there weren't any grommets when I looked at my glove box. Is it really necessary to put it? If so why wasn't it installed out of the factory? Also what's the purpose for the holes in the first place?

@NIKDENG, the Wedsport SA-15R is 18x8.5/9.5 then +48.. for the tires, 235/40 up front and 255/35 at the back? pero you know what, after seeing yours, i might stick with the 57Xtreme ang dami na kasi naka-ganon na set-up kaya i wanted the Wedsport pero i know the reason why a lot are going with the 57Xtreme because it looks so good on the 86/BRZ siguro if i couldnt get hold off the 57Xtreme, thats when i'll get the Wedsport na lang

btw, i really appreciate the PM, very complete and a lot of setups.. laking tulong thanks sir!

@ciotime, really? im assuming wala ren yung akin, di ko pa siya nachecheck din

@ciotime,

The holes are used to tie down the cars during transportation from the factory to the different end destinations that is why they did not put it during assembly in the factory. They are supposed to be placed after being delivered to the casas. If they are not plugged using the rubber grommets, dust, odors and water could pass into the side seal through the hole and enter the interior directly from the rear quarter. Worst that can happen is that water and dirt could accumulate in the rear sub-frame through the holes which could later on cause rust problems.

@pa3ck32,

There really are no clips on the holes on the lower rear bumper area. The holes are used for the addition of a body kit or mudguards. If you are annoyed by the holes, you can buy these generic plastic plugs from a hardware store.

@pcuerpo,

You should also look into the Enkei R505RR 18x8.5 18x9.5 staggered wheels as an alternative to the Gramlights and Wedsport. They look just as good and are not as common.

Are you getting 18s? or 19s? Whats the wheel width? What tires are you planning to use? In my experience, the "flush" offset would be anything from +38 to +40 for a 9 or 9.5. A +48 would make it really close to the shocks, more so if you're using the stock shocks. I think you have to test fit the +48 first before committing to them.

Thanks for the heads up sir Nikdeng...so I guess its important to plug in that hole. So what do I do now since I cant seem to find the grommets anywhere in the car? Ask it from the casa? What I did find were 2 of these plug like plastics at the back seat which I have no idea where they plug in to....winplus is written on its face.

@NIKDENG, saw sa FB ng Autokozmetix yung blue 86/BRZ, ang ganda ng RS05R nga i liked that one too pero the price for an Enkei, too much.. already inquired from Autokozmetix.. i'd rather add a little and get a TE37SL instead..

@Tye300, thats what im worried too since thats what im hearing/reading from others if the offset is too high.. will probably just get the 57Xtreme just like yours and NIKDENG's except 18s only
