Toyota 86 High speed chase (Australia)

My girlfriend just sent this article to me. She said "hey that looks like a FRS". Apparently, two guys were fleeing from the police in Queensland, Australia. I lol'd when i heard high speed .

That was the distance of the chase not the speed.

But they did get away, right? Looks like they are still looking for them.

Hey, despite being 'medium' speed, the 86 got them 186 miles. Unlike that Dodge Hellcat chase that saw the car run out of gas, the 86's mileage and aero obviously proved to be a better choice in this situation...

Also a lack of helicopter chase vehicle. That makes all the difference.

Well they were trying to steal a Hyundai so just how smart were they in the first place?
There is probably a rather significant shortage of Hellcats in Australia to make it an effective getaway vehicle.

Probably a Holden Commodore or Ford Falcon, but definitely painted up like a pace car. That's probably why the 86 ran for it. He saw the pace car and thought, "Time to race!"

I saw in a documentary once that they ran out of V8 Interceptors.

Cops would've been able to keep up in a Prius. Same tires too.

RWD vs FWD.. Any idiot can drive a FWD fast but it takes skill to get the best from a RWD.
