Are these rebuildable? Been lurking in suspension area for a while, now that I've got my Enkei RPF1s, time to think about coilovers as the next step. Not too interested in tracking the car, just enthusiastic canyon carving.

The damper can be rebuild, but it is more economical to replace them.
As generally servicing of a mono-tube damper will run about $150, and that is assuming there are no there parts that need replacing.

A new damper core unit isn't far off that, so once you factor in shipping cost and turn around time, a replacement works out as a better choice.

However, the damper unit is rebuildable, and we do them all the time as part of our GT1 custom built damper.
It is not a "sealed" unit if that is your concern.

I'll add my two cents. They are indeed very comfortable and the ride is almost comparable to OEM. I first tried 16 clicks (middle setting), which was a bit bumpy. Then I put it to 20 clicks towards the softer side (so 4 clicks to soft from the middle) and the ride is pretty much perfect.

Did everyone change their preload on the rear springs before install. I didn't touch mine. And wondering if I should do the 10mm preload compression

Someone sent me a email with the measurements to set the preload and that is what I went with. It did need minor adjustment out of the box.

Sorry for not commenting in a while-haven't had much free time to be on the forums. It's been over a year with these coilovers now and still have zero issues. They feel exactly like they did on day one. Still a daily driver and autocrossed often. A+

Small update/contribution:

4000km (2500 miles) on mine so far and loving it! No weird noises and I love the range of damping adjustments. This car is my daily, so being able to have a comfortable setting was an important factor for me. They can ride just as good, if not better than stock in the softer settings.

When it comes time to hit the canyons, bump it up a few clicks and they'll give you so much more confidence and reduced body roll over stock, while still maintaining an acceptable ride. They can be set to be firm, but it never feels harsh.

For daily driving, I find myself liking 18 clicks from full hard front & rear. Tire pressure set at 31psi front & rear on a 92SL tire.

On a side note, I couldn't help but notice the similarity between these and the Blitz coilovers, especially the camber plate/top mount. The markings, studs, allen bolts, knob, etc all look identical. But I guess it's not a bad thing if they do in fact share components/manufacturer

that blitz kit is $800 so I wouldn't be surprised if they were made in the same factory then a sticker stuck on it

These look very similar to the TOG 1 coilovers I've got in our 86 bar the locking rings and spring winding, top plates are identical.

I'd have a guess they are made in Taiwan where the TOG's are made and have to say I couldn't be happier either as they made the car soooo much more comfy plus handle extremely well to boot .

While there are many suspension on the market that looks similar, what set the MeisterR ZetaCRD apart is the CRD (Close Ratio Damping) valving that we engineered in house in our UK workshop.

The CRD valving run a much closer damping ratio than most valving found on the market, especially for McPherson Strut used on the front of the 86.
This provide shaper steering response, crisper turn in, and better control on stiffer damping setting.
On softer damper setting, they will provide a compliant ride quality and good traction over uneven road surfaces.

That is the main difference that makes the MeisterR coilovers stand out from the rest of the other suspension.

The locking collar is also our own unique design, and is currently under UK Patent Pending status.
There will not be another company in the world using the same collar design as us.

The MeisterR coilovers focus a bit more on compression travel in order to allow the suspension provide good ride comfort over uneven road surfaces.
The stiffer springs rate provided push the static position of the piston upward compare to the OEM setup.
We aim to pack the longest travel damper we can within the given space at our targeted ride height adjustment range.

The total travel is 120mm front (4.72"), and 105mm rear (4.13")

Thanks for everybody's input.... Great thread.

So, if I understand this correctly, these coilovers can be left at stock ride height, and have similar comfort to OEM dampers? I come from a stock 2014 FR-S. My aim is mainly to have a very comfortable (better than OEM if possible) and might lower car a bit in the future but might only do 1” (not at first). These seem like a good set for my goals (might track later, mainly DD), but very worried about handling on crappy roads around here.
