2015 BRZ Service Interval Change

I just wanted to share, the genuine Subaru certified motor oil change guide lists the 2015 BRZ change from 7.5/7,500 to every 6 months or 6,000 miles.

I had TBNs done with my oil analyses on my first two oil changes, which indicated that the Subaru synthetic oil can easily go 10K miles between oil changes. I would be very curious to know their reasoning for changing the intervals. (I suspect it's to make more money in their service departments.)

Toyota pays for the changes for the first 2 years and the dealer is telling me 10k, but the book still says 7.5???? Guess they don't want to pay for it themselves!

A number of 2015MY Subarus are stating 6,000mi intervals in their service and maintenance schedule brochures, but their quick reference guides still say 7,500. It's confusing to say the least. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for the change.

Individual needs vary so for me being supercharged I think I'll change every 6k just to be on the safe side.

Was this published in one of the yellow addition/changes sheets or in the actual user manual?

Took my 2013 BRZ to the dealer for my scheduled service ten days ago. The reminder (sticker) left on the windshield asks for me to return after 6k miles or in March, which would be 6 months. I was puzzled, but that seems consistent.

Same here took 2013 BRZ for service 3 days ago - sticker said to come back in 6k miles or ~late april/early march.

On that day I actually asked them for Subaru's menu of service, booklet that basically tells you what gets done at each interval. Booklet still has it at 7500 intervals lol.

When I first read your reply it sounded like you were saying they want you back after having driven 15k more miles(24k).

Then I re-read it and it says they want you back AT 15k miles
