@was385 so I'm new to this whole modding/tuning thing. and as I search around the forum I see posts about autox and it's gotten my curiosity lol.
so if I were to fit my car for autox what suspension modifications would I need? I know essentially it would be different to fit the preference of the driver of the car, but to get things started. I want to know the basics of it.

Absolutely nothing and that's the wonderful thing. They have stock classes where the modifications are very limited which cuts down the cost. I ran my first season on completely stock suspension and wheels/tires. If you have coils or springs you get moved up to another classing. Honestly you wouldn't be competitive for a while so it's just a great opportunity to go out, push your car a bit, and have a lot of fun.

wow. i figured this car was built for stuff like this but didn't expect stock would be good enough lol.
you say 'first season', so this isn't a one time thing? you sign up for it and it's a monthly event?
did you have any mods for power? (intake, exhaust, etc.) and also did you run stock brakes?

Most people are part of a club. Mine does about 15 events a year but obviously you can go to one to see if you like it first. It's a pretty low speed form of racing (<60mph) that emphasizes car control so there isn't a ton of strain on things like brakes. If I were you, I'd start completely stock to learn. If you decide you want to really get into it, there's plenty of great info in the racing section for both the stock and modified classes.

ah I see. I have a feeling I'll get into this
this might be a stupid question...but can auto transmissions participate in autox?

Show up stock first. Learn the car, and then start modding.

The nut behind the wheel is the best mod you can make.

Can't agree with this enough. Tons of grip is fun but if you have it before you're experienced it just acts to cover up bad driving and slow down your progression. Learning to keep momentum going with stock tires and suspension will make you much better.

And yes, you can absolutely use auto. I've seen everything from zip car mazdas and old beater civics to Audi R8s and fully race prepped track cars at my club. You can drive almost any car and it's organized in classes so you're competing against similar cars.

@CSG Mike @was385 again, thanks for the info.
I guess I'll try to attend an autox event around my area sometime soon and get a feel of my car then come back with more questions lol

There's a wealth of knowledge from far more experienced guys than myself in the autox and racing section that up you should read through if you're interested in getting started. Just show up though and there are always plenty of first timers and plenty of people willing to help show you the ropes.

That's actually the best approach. You're on a common path pursuing improved suspension, grip, braking, etc. The car is surprisingly capable, but everyone has been programmed to believe anything OEM is garbage and must be upgraded to be worth half a sh*t. Not entirely true with this car. Improvements can be made, sure, (hell, even a Ferrari 599 can be "improved") but it's not exactly in dire straits to begin with. Get out there and have fun at an event, and see how you feel afterwards. Your goals might be different.
