Subaru pcv recall

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...SVLZsnrDwm9UNQ

Just found this article about yet another subaru recall. It's been a debate between me and a friend of mine whether or not subaru is a reliable brand. Considering this platform has had it's growing pains, and tack on the valve spring recall, I'm curious to see if you guys still think of subaru as a reliable brand like honda and toyota or no better than the rest. I personally have had no issues with my car and neither has my dad with his crosstrek so I can't really speak very negatively about the brand.

I would do Honda too, but you get the point.

The other thing to consider is whether the problem is with Subaru or is it with parts in their supply chain? Takata recalled the airbags for Toyota and other manufactures who use their airbags. Is this a Toyota problem or a supplier problem?

The recall sounds extreme, but it looks to me like Subaru owning up to a failing part.

Consider the content of the recall without all the drama: They'll replace the PCV valves, if they take it off and see it broke apart, they'll try and find the pieces in the crankcase, if they can't find the pieces they'll replace the whole engine.

Keep in mind, I know of one car maker (that shan't go nameless: it was Ford) that when faced with failing structural components, recalled the vehicles and fixed them with what was basically c-clamps and glue. So this recall by subaru seems put the quality and integrity of the customer's vehicle above all else. That's massively reassuring.

I also congratulate Subaru for their response to this particular issue.
