Subaru Japan OEM Double Din Fascia.

Hey all,

Looking at upgrading the head unit on my 2017 BRZ, and noticed that Subaru Japan offers many double din headunits as factory options on the BRZ. (PDF linked FYI)

The bezel that they use looks very clean compared to the aftermarket options available, so if someone can find the part number for that, I can open up my options to more than just the Kenwood DDX917WS for a clean head unit installation in my car, as well as possibly lowering the cost (the DDX917 is ~$900 CAD, expensive for a CarPlay/Android Auto Unit).

Thanks!

EDIT: FOUND IT! It is the Subaru AV ESCUTCHEON. Definetly a game changer for a clean double din install.

Oh goodness yes. Unfortunately need to find it in LHD though. But this is encouraging.

Looks like you can use the Canadian dash piece just as before (like what I have in my car currently). The double din adapter bezel (the trim between the dash piece and the edge of the double din unit) is the part number I'm looking for, as it looks much nicer than the other double din adapters out there.

Found a picture of a JDM spec model with one of those optional double din units, and has the adapter if you zoom in close:

Yeah the Canadian dash piece looks nice, but not quite double din (as you know). I can't believe no one in the aftermarket has made one for this car.

I'm right there with you guys, it amazes me that it hasn't been done yet. The one-piece dash wouldn't bother me as much if there was a decent filler piece. I would love to see a true double din option here in the states. Anyone have experience with creating plastic molds?

Maybe contact Nigel JDM and see if they can figure something out about it.

Or maybe Japan Parts.

Found a picture to clarify what piece I am specifically talking about, as I realize the OP may not be exactly clear.

Current double-din adapters available in the US:

The japanese option available from Subaru officially (dealer installed I believe):

As you can see, the JDM double din adapter is a lot cleaner looking, and more OEM-like in execution.

EDIT: Found a post on the forum about what I'm referring to, however the japanparts link is dead.

Ah yeah, I thought you found a full dash piece with a double din opening. But that does look like a very good adapter kit. Get it and let us know how it fits!

Following up as I believe I have found the Subaru Part number if anyone wants to verify!

Its either P0017CA955 or P0017CA952. Translated from Japanese it is the "Navi Mounting Kit" according to the Subaru Accessory PDF linked in the OP.

EDIT: Proper Subaru Part # is confirmed H0017CA900.

Hi, sorry to dig this out, but to anyone that bought it - what mounting brackets did you use?

I have the UK GT86 and used the original head unit brackets, with the gaps left open until now. My Japanese fascia just arrived but unfortunately the two won't fit together, they overlap.

I used my AV Escutcheon with the stock head unit mounting brackets on a 2016 USDM BRZ. There was some overlap, but I just cut out maybe 3-4mm from the Escutcheon to make it work. I don’t have pics, but it was all cutting in an area that’s invisible once it’s installed. Some tin snips or a Drexel tool should be good enough to get the job done if yours is the same as mine.

I see. I was hoping there is an alternative plate, since so many 3rd party ones are floating around.
I'll look into cutting, but I'm hoping to cut the metal bracket instead, since the plastic Escutcheon was so expensive
