Go with an Exeddy Clutch, talk to Don over at Accelerated Performance for Exeddy Clutch hook ups.

Granny shifting, not double clutching like you should?

I promised that I would drive carefully and be easier on the clutch. I did it at a Subaru Dealership in Northern Virginia area. I was riding the clutch for too long in 1st gear (bad habit that I picked up in the beginning, which i have gotten rid of since). I have about 7,500 miles of stick-shift experience as of today, Jan. 16th, 2013. Since the install of the new replacement clutch (from Subaru Japan), my BRZ has been running well.

I appreciate all of this advice!

This is one of my favorite movies. I didn't really like the sequels : ). The first one was really legit, true to the core haha.

XD

Yeah a part of it was granny-shifting haha...

Wow I learned how to drive manual on my BRZ but never had problem with riding the clutch. Replacing it in 4 months seems really early. But I'm glad you got it fixed. Just becareful. Don't rush and screw the people behind you, you don't know them anyway. Just take your time, find the engagement point first, then gas it. I used to gas before engagement point because I felt bad for the people behind me in case I stall, but now I think of it, your car should come before anyone xD

All of this crazy talk. If you look closely at the clutch, the uneven wear would suggest about 8k miles of abuse ORRRRRR spline was messed up from factory. If you mess up the spline or overgrease it, fucked. Looks like something that could not be user related (considering the small mileage).

I know this thread is old, but figured I would throw in my $.02

I bought a Stage 5 6-puck clutch w/ flywheel for $628 w/ free shipping and had R/T Tuning in PA install it for like $500.. and that is a performance clutch and a performance shop. I can't fathom how an OEM clutch thru a dealership is $1700+
