I have to think you get more of that in your M5 than you would in a BRZ. The most I've gotten was some country bumpkin hanging out the passenger window of his friend's truck giving me a thumbs up.

MX5s are nice, I will admit. I just don't fit in them.

The topic is in effect bashing on members who mod their car with the defense that it tarnishes those owners who chose to not mod their cars?

Last time I checked 99% of the material and posts contained here on this website and its forum are based on modding for aesthetics or for performance. Interesting idea bringing up this topic on a forum where people have worked hour after hour on both paying for their expensive mods as well as the time it takes to install and perfect them.

I'm sorry but coming on this site and saying all you modders are giving the stock 86 a bad name is pretty pathetic.

Tasteful modding does not make one's car a ricer! It gives a car and it's owner a sense of individuality in a world filled with cars that are identical to each other.

I've never heard a single person actually say "Bimmer" ever. I do hear people refer to them as "Beamers" all the time. The only time I've ever heard them referred to as "Bimmers" is on the internet. Somebody asked on the BMW forums and there was a 20+page thread with people telling all the reasons why "Beamer" is motorcycles and "Bimmer" is cars, but it doesn't change the fact that only a select few hardcore BMW enthusiasts actually care to make that distinction.

I would bet that nobody every argued about this before internet forums.
