We're hoping early summer, a few more things to work out and we should be ready.

Say what you will but the wrx has been sporting an UEL with a turbo for years. That EJ motor puts out good power. Perhaps for very high level HP/TQ output an EL would be better but really? this kit? no offense. I'm partial to UEL rumble

speaking in efficency terms, a UEL is not efficient enough to scavenge for a turbo's wheel. The exhaust comes in two pulses instead of 4. 4 is a much better integration across the wheel rather than 2, each pulse would only cover 25% rather than 50% of the entire wheel.

In physics, this means a force that is more constant has the ability to keep the inertia down, which by then the billet wheel has a much easier time spooling up rather than one burst of air needing to push half the wheel.

The WRX is barely UEL, not for the reason to keep it UEL, but subaru engineers obviously found another cost effective reasoning for keeping it slightly UEL vs full EL. And no, the EJ doesnt make monsterous power, it makes pretty good power, yes. But nothing like the F2xC can or the 4G63 or 4B11.

@FT-86 SpeedFactory... you've put me back in indecision mode. Thanks... I was fully committed to the jrsc but now am reconsidering turbo. Could you offer you're opinions in a comparison between a cenrti style blower and you're turbo kit. I.e. Feel of the power band. Where full boost is made at 8 psi. And any pertant temp or pressure data available. I love the Jackson kit for its lack of headaches and "plug and play" style. But am certain I'll crave more power in the future once I become comfortable with fi on this car. The headroom of a turbo is just too tempting to let go. I'm already a boost junkie from my sr20 days. Quite frankly I miss it a lot. Thanks for any info. Just trying to bring more info to light about what seems like another great kit for our cars. Thanks for the development you're doing and for all the parts you've sent me.

I think this is more of a fundamental "turbo vs sc" question. If you're coming from a modded 240sx (or whichever car you had the SR20 in), I think the turbo kit would be what you're looking for in terms of power and the way it's delivered.

Honestly, the JRSC kit's big trump card is that it comes with a very good (albeit somewhat conservative) tune. That's a big reason why you don't see many issues from JRSC owners, and it's the reason why I suggest the JRSC kit to so many people. If a turbo kit were to also come out with it's own tested, guaranteed tune, I think it would be a game changer in the FI market. After all, tunes are the biggest variable in FI reliability.

Before I bought my kit, I was very biased towards turbos, but the reliability and all-in-one package of the JRSC was just too good to pass up. If a turbo kit offered the same package, I would have probably gone with the turbo.

Well put. This is what I would look for in a turbo kit like this one. If FT86-Speedfactory can provide that same level of part quality/tune/support of the JRSC, it will be a very nice kit to get.

This is exactly what has me bouncing between this and the JRSC. Personally I'm investing in the driver mod this year (track time with instructors) so I'll be ready to compare when this is finally released. Thanks @FT-86 SpeedFactory for putting together such a well thought and researched kit. Makes the difference.

@campy you hit the nail on the head. I will always love the feeling of boost coming on from a turbo. But as you stated the all inclusive jrsc is the biggest draw to me for my power desire. I just want to install whatever kit I buy flash the rom and giggle like a little girl at my new power.

I am curious as to how much this will run. Probably at the top of my list right now tho. Seeing as how similar it is to the tread stone kit at $4800. I'd say this will be near there. Looks good so far though. I need a turbo in my life.

The EFR has a cast stainless turbine housing. I would just run a blanket.
