Stock compression is 12.1:1 or something and many are running high boost pulleys on 91 without issues. Timing is just changed or the tune is just different. I think TJ Hunt went high boost and only gained like 10 hp on 91 because of a safe tune, but with e85 gained a hundred or more hp to put down 420whp because he could tune aggressive.

is there an official statement from Harrop regarding CARB status? I want to burn a hole in my wallet just for that sticker.

See above. I知 hoping it is their New Years resolution. I知 not a buyer without the CARB tune, so I知 waiting, but I知 also not eager at this moment to go FI, so I知 going to go Edelbrock or JR just yet.

I asked a different set of questions around Australia. Hit them up with an email they are quick to reply.

The timing will come down drastically on pump gas. For example, at 7k rpm I am able to run a max of 25.5 deg of ignition timing at e80 at 15 psi. That timing would be 10-12 deg on pump 91 oct and power would drop to about 280-290 whp.

I would never track on 91 oct while boosting on any pulley on this or stock CR. The tune would just have to be way too conservative and would need to get even more conservative as inlet temps increased. At the very least, would need to blend in some 100 oct to get to ~94-95 oct.

I feel like this car, more than any other NA or boosted car I have been in, will automatically change timing. It is either doing that or the effects from having high compression are compounded. Cold days seem like the car is more powerful, and not just slightly, but really noticeabe. Altitude really robs power, not just slightly.

I agree. Granted this is my first N/A motor with performance in mind but it痴 incredible how good this car feels in the winter compared to summer. Summer temps in AZ are always in the 110s compared to winter mornings in the 40s

Yes it has an aggressive knock control system.

I got a nice reply. Hopefully this means something will be happening soon with CARB.

Thanks for your email and interest in Harrop Performance Products.

We are in fact in the process of obtaining CARB certification through SEMA Garage, we currently offer emission compliance in Australia for this kit though the laws do differ significantly.

Please stay posted as we are pushing for this to happen earlier rather than later.

You can also contact Neal at The Racers Line in CA as he is one of our key dealers for the Subaru/Toyota product.

Thanks.

Has anyone done the drive in, drive out option with Harrop in Preston?

I live in Melbourne so this is looking like the likeliest option for me. It's 8k for the kit with Ecutek tune. I'm guessing add on 1-1.5k for labour?

Here's an interesting question: does anyone know the hose diameters of the system and the engine vacuum ines?

I was planning on changing all of them over to silicone hoses to remove the issue of cracks and holes.
