Are all BRZ-FRS prone to swirls, scratches

They all appear to scratch too easily

Subaru paint quality has always been questionable. So I'd say yeah they all probably are.

Pretty much. I've mostly hand washed mine and use microfiber and still get swirls.

Stay away from car washes and never, ever, let a dealer wash your car.

Yes. It is inevitable. I use microfiber as stated above and swirling is still there. It is what it is. Every car has a flaw.

I'm getting a paint correction today and OptiCoat. Also extra layer of OptiCoat on the front I'll post pics later. I may have a YouTube vid of it as we'll.

I've only washed mine with Omni Waterless Wash/Shine and it had swirls that must have come from the Dealer when they washed it when I purchased it.
Definitely not the Usual Toyota Quality that I came to know and Love

Paint quality has really decreased since they started using water-based paint instead of oil-based paint. I don't know if the EPA banned it or placed fines on it or if the auto companies just started doing it themselves, but if you just look at the paint wrong on a new GM car, it chips off. I don't know that it's that bad on the twins, but the clear coat is definitely not good. It seems prone to swirls and easily acquires marks in the right light from bird droppings, if you if you remove it immediately.

Fixed that for you...

I'm sure you can figure the rest out from there.

They definitely do seem ultra-prone to scratches and marring. I baby the shit out of mine and I still find small imperfections or scratches that I have no idea where they came from.

That being said there are a few things you can do while washing to try to minimize that. First, use a high gsm grade microfiber towel. A lot of people probably use the lower grade ones that you can pick up at Costco. The non tare side of those, the lining, and especially the tag if you don't rip it off can induce scratches, and probably the tare side as well since it's a low grade.

I use http://www.carpro-us.com/blue-angora...towel-16-x-16/ but there are higher gsm grade double tare sided microfiber towels you can get as well.

Use a high-lubricity soap. I just ordered Garry Dean's "The Perfect Soap" featured in his perfect wash video. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping it works out.

If you dry your car, I would recommend using whichever detail spray you use/prefer and spray down the area to add some lubricity before you run over it with your drying towel (also should be a high gsm grade microfiber).

Outside of what you can change while washing your car, and being careful, most of the other stuff that is going to induce swirls/marring is beyond your control
