Yes, but it's not a currency they would probably accept. Whatever 60k VND gets me.

Gas questions:
How much gas in the tank do you recommend to show up with in the morning? I assume a full-tank will be more than enough for the entire day, correct?

Is weight a concern for n00bs/novices just learning (ie: no need to show up with a half-tank to save weight; it's not necessary for a n00b since we aren't going fast/all-out anyways)

If a full-tank doesn't last a full-day nor half-day..then how long does it last for, or do you guys usually leave the track to refuel at the closest station?

Don't think about this too much.

Normally on the track, expect around 10MPG, so a full tank can probably get you around 100 miles of track time max.

All depends on how much time you see on track, how fast you are going, how clean the sessions are. But don't worry about weight transfer, not necessary to know when you first start out.

Focus on technique and learning the track, then focus on details.

I'm mostly just guestimating, around 60-80 miles on track with a quarter tank left starting from full.

Mike (or any other experienced track heads):
Have you, or anyone, drove or own an frs/brz with a shorter FD (4.56, 4.88, 5.1, etc.)?

If so, how did you like it for the track? Any significant improvements or downfalls?

In the future (distant future.. 1-2 years of saving and also after I have bought the other more important costly parts - like wheels, tires, coilovers), I would like to modify the car's "power/quickness"...but I definitely do not want to change every single bit of exhaust/lightweight-drivetrain/na-engine part nor obsessively tune hundreds of times, nor do I want to FI it (better word - can't afford FI). But, I am very much down, and want to, change out the FD to something shorter to give me quicker and speedier acceleration.

This is the only thing I want to do actually (and also a catted header) to the engine/drivetrain-department, while leaving everything else stock (for simplicity's sake). I think I would be very content with this set-up (in 2-3 years time from now) of just wheels, tires, track brake bits, coilovers and a shorter FD...(avoiding GAS too...I'm not really a "tuner" into modifying a car non-stop and dumping thousands into it..just want to enjoy the car..best bang for the buck type of stuff). Anyways, just wanted to hear your opinion on a shorter FD for a track day standpoint (and also around town DD since we're here).

I have. All it does is shift the powerband around. It'll help at some tracks, and hurt at others.

What to bring at an AutoCross event (ie: El Toro) vs a Track Day?

I assume I need to bring much less stuff to a simple Autocross day..but I want to hear suggestions.

Here's my list of what to bring to, and prep for before, Track day (from my research on this forum and other's suggestions). What things should I exclude from this list for a AutoX day? I like less-is-more and it's nicer to keep things less complex and more minimal.

What to bring to Track (Essential):
Helmet
Tire Pressure Gauge
Tools, Ratchets, Sockets, Allens, Breaker Bar, etc. (10/12/14/17/19/21mm)
Torque Wrench
Painters Tape
Oil
Brake Fluid
Distilled Water (tracks dislike spare coolant)
Flashlight
Spare/Stock Pads
Disposable Gloves
Jack & Stands
Wood Blocks
Chair
Spare Clothes
Cooler
Food & Drinks
Camera
Paper Towels & Rags
Glass Cleaner
Zip Ties
Duct Tape
Mallet or Hammer

Prep before Track day (Essential):
Swap to Track Pads & Bleed Brakes
Top-off fluids - coolant, oil, brake fluid
Check Tires - air up, wear, damage
Fresh Oil
Alignment
Remove all loose items - glove, cabin, trunk, floormats

Not sure what you intend to do with all that stuff, (swap wheels at the track, fix potential breaks, swap brake fluid,... ?) but we brought food, water, chairs, helmets, gloves and a phone mount for iPhone to run Harry's Lap Timer. If an 'emergency' repair is needed, there are tons of super nice people all around you with tools and a willingness to help.
Don't schlep it there unless you know you plan to use it.

We did our first HPDE weekend two weekends ago through NASA. Their program is awesome and affordable. My two days was $265 and included my instructor for all sessions both days (didn't end up needing him second day as I got promoted to HPDE2 on first day).

In two days I ran 8 sessions for 20-25 minutes each. Pulled a little over a hundred laps and 130 miles which came to about 2.5-3 hours on the track at full-tilt. Started with a full tank and ended on fumes both days.

My wife has her first weekend April 5-6 through the same sanctioning body.
