The HKS Supercharger will make 300hp but it has an inlet restrictor to bring the power level back for reliability.

basically its a way to control boost. you use an intake restrictor to limit max boost, after correctly sizing your pulley. you want to size the sc pulley to make the compressor spin as fast as possible (safely) and then prevent overboosting with the restrictor. the pulley changes the entire boost curve (essentially moving it left or right) while the restrictor levels out the boost up top, and keeps the midrange boost. if the engine can take max boost, then by all means dont run a restrictor. otherwise you will overboost... Yes you can add a restrictor which i did before forging my engine. I then removed it.
However now i going to run a Rotrex double the size but i still need to restrict the final PSI if required. Well another way is to add a Wastegate on the cold side. Thats what im doing and a recirculating BOV for off throttle gear changing. See having the biggest blower that can fit is the best then you dictate how much you want. This way you get much more even lower. Changing Rotrex size basically add another 2.5 psi at 1,500 rpm |
