Who is the GoAPR.com of FT-86 tuning?

In the world of FT-86 tuning who is the company that is most like GoAPR - APR Tuning?

APR is not the fastest tuner and it is debatable if they are the most reliable. But they do have good marketing and good presentation of their products and kits.

For example their turbo and software come in stages 1, 2, 2+, K04, 3, 3+ - http://www.goapr.com/products/?vehicle=Golf_MKVI

and everything is packaged from fittings, to hardware, to software. You don't need to piece together a kit or go to different vendors to get a stage for your VW or Audi.

I see APR as the Apple of VAG tuning. You go to one place to buy everything and it all works because it all comes from one place. Also, if you need support you can go to one place.

However, when I look at the Forced Induction board for this forum there are umpteen vendors all offering turbos or superchargers. Some are small shops and some are big vendors from the Subaru space.

The closest thing I have seen to an APR like package for the FT-86 is Perrins' Supercharger Kit:

http://perrinperformance.com/i-15922...-fr-s-brz.html

So who is that vendor?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks

OP, you could mosey on down to the vendor review section. And research which vendor you would like to use.

Reaper, that's....insane...makes me remember why I love my dsm so much lol. I have a full stand alone tuner/logger. Know how much it cost? 500 even.

The reason I am asking about tuners is I am definitely buying a FR-S in 2014. The thing is I like to tune my cars.

However, I don't like to piecemeal it like the Civic tuners, I prefer the simplicity of the Euro or Subaru tuners where you go to one vendor and he provides everything including updates. Some good examples are APR, Unitronic, Cobb Tuning, Dinan, etc.

Being a mkiv owner, I can tell you, you're gonna miss the GTI.

Closest thing I've seen is the innovate supercharger kit with the ecutek tuning kit. It's the closest you can get to a "package". Consider that like stg 3. (Only vw owners will know what I mean lol.)

But cosworth is going to have their new kits. Those will be staged just like APR just more expensive.

About the only two platforms we have are ecutek and openflash tablet. Sooo, vendor review section, make your choice based on the countless reviews/comparisons of the two already on the board.

I'm not getting rid of the GTI. Too much money has been poured into it to turn it into my semi-perfect Daily Driver/Track Car.

I want to supplement the GTI with a FR-S because it is the opposite of my GTI. 2 instead of 4 doors, manual instead of DSG.

I did look at Innovate's Supercharger, it looks very nice and integrates cleanly with the engine bay.

I have also looked at PTuning's Turbo setup at GripFest 6. Nice but not as nice as a Crawford package.

I know who apr is I was just noting that Porsche tunes are a lot of money. The fa20club comment was a joke.

i had a 450hp mk4 24v vrt so i know where you are coming from. if you want to do an all in one stop build ptuning has a nice kit and has an in house tuner, as well as full blown motorsports. with full blown you can do everything from a base kit, all the way to an 800 hp build all from the same shop.

there is nothing wrong with having hardware from one place, then a tune from somewhere else though. just research everything first
