Assuming most of you don't read french. This shop dyno tested 87 vs 91 vs 94 octane in a twin. Turns out they got 6hp more on 94 vs 91 (166whp vs 160). Tests were done back to back, same car, drained tank. There's certainly a margin of error, but just an indication.

Also, am I correct in assuming you don't have a tune either? I think if you and the other guy got a tune, you would see a significant difference in what your car can pull numbers wise, vs his. Not sure how the ecu actually learns and whatnot, but at this point of your build, maybe look into an OFT tune, they're reasonably priced, and reviews are good.

HEADER AND TUNE REPORT

Finally after a very long wait the headers arrived !

Catted headers, Perrin overpipe, stock catted main pipe, Magnaflow catback,
TRD intake, Vishnu OFT latest stage 2 94 octane tune.

I went with Magnaflow because the sound was slightly louder than stock, deeper, throatier, not raspy and NO DRONE ! A dignified but sexy sound.

The header only slightly increased the decibel level, kept the Magnaflow tone, but UEL changed it from a sedate sexy sound to an angry growl, very satisfying !

As far as top speed, butt dyno only shows a very slightly noticable top speed increase. As far as torque dip, the header and tune don't turn the car into a Harley where all the torque is available right off of idle, but the power comes on much sooner and everything happens much faster and sooner on the tach.

The usable power is now in a spot where it is usable in a practical sense. This I believe is the purpose of the header, yes, some power gains due to increased flow etc. but the power is now usable as it comes sooner in the rev range, is smoother and more linear up to red line.

So usable that I was able to challenge a heavily boosted turbo twin at the track (short straights).

The header without a tune is like tits on a bowling ball - It'll roll but not as fast.

Has anyone had this problem or is it just mine,
My car just threw a check engine light yesterday, I took it to the dealer and they told me it was a code for the Primary Cat on the car. I have about 4,500 miles driven with the Catted UEL header from FT86SF, Im just wondering if anyone else has had their car throw out a Check engine light for these headers?
Never had a problem since the day I had it, Just happened yesterday.
Has the Cat took a dump on me? and gone bad already?
