A tune will probably help a little. 1st gear is geared very high, so try to keep it in 2nd if you can when rolling in slow traffic... and like the others say, just work the clutch and do more coasting. I used to have some issues with this, but after a while I just learned how to drive the car better.

Agreed 100%. This car may be a pain in the ass once in a while, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Never going back to an automatic.

No really.

Mine did this too until I started pushing in the clutch more often. I also had trouble shifting smoothly in lower RPMs until I began consciously trying to make every shift smooth. 5-10k miles later every shift is smooth at any rpm and no shuddering ever (unless I'm tired or accidentally cause it).
Thanks for the input but my driving is not to be blamed. Everyone here uniformly agrees that the car has difficulty in lower speeds.

I don't agree. AWD manual trans Subarus are much more difficult to drive smoothly.

I do wonder if your car has a slight issue somewhere. I've just got rid of a miata for the BRZ and that definitely was harder to keep smooth. The brz strikes me as pretty civilized at low speed compared to a lot of cars i've driven.

I do agree...

My 06 rsx was much more of a bitch in first gear.

I re-read your first post. Something is fucked up on your car, sorry. The only time my car "bucks" is if I let off the gas in first gear and let the engine break all the way down. To prevent this I push in the clutch instead of engine breaking in first gear. Nothing of the sorts should be happening in second let alone third gear. I've had many people drive my car and no one has said anything about that.
