Anyone know if these are as bright as the DIY mod that was posted a while back? If it was it'd be a great alternative for those of use that don't want to mess around with breaking and re-soldering traces.

They appear to be much brighter than stock so I am going to guess that yes they are as bright as the DIY

I wish it were true... but if you're going for higher brightness I don't think this will cut it! |

I think the switchback would be cool since it will work as a turn signal too, but would it be too much with the original turn signal AND the boomerang? lol

If you have an LED flasher module you could remove the standard indicator without issue. Or you could replace it with an LED bulb and I reckon it would look quite good.

"Thank you for choosing Diode Dynamics! Our LED drop in boards will be at a slightly brighter then factory brightness level but this was not the main focus of the replacement boards. To safely increase the brightness of these boards, you would also want to provide the necessary heat sinks within the headlight. To keep the modification to a minimum the brightness level has only been slightly increased. Both the RGBW and switchback LED board will work in conjunction with the Always on Module! Best, Justin" It looks like you could drive more current through with some additional heat protection (heat sinks) but the boards aren't made to be much brighter than stock. So yes, if you want to buy some boards and do some modification (add heat sinks, change components) to increase current flow I can't see why this would be a problem. |

Obviously whatever controller they use will need to be replaced with something compatible to run at a higher current. You will also need to take care of all of the same thermal considerations.
