Me too. VERY ANNOYED.

If they didn't want us to have DRL for whatever reason they could have left the relay out. Removing a wire is silly.

Confirmed: DRL works on my car after the relay is installed

I put the horn relay back and swapped with the rear fog relay (identical part), as I rarely use rear fogs. Also the Valenti lights are quite bright on normal park settings, so no real need for rear fogs. Will however still need to find a relay one of these days and put it back - but not urgent any more.

So, if you want to experiment, you can also use the relay from "RR Fog" instead of the horn one.

Also checked all my lights, including brake lights, brights, etc and everything else seems to work (beside the rear fog obviously).

That's great news! This should then work for all the new High specs that came stock with the rear spoiler. Won't work on the ones before that.

Easiest way to check is to swap your relay from the fog to DRLs - takes 30seconds to confirm if your car has them pre-wired.

Yep. Just to clarify - all high spec vehicles are pre-wired for DRL, the problem is with the headlight itself(one pin missing).

I checked mine this morning and it looks like I have eight wires into the headlight so I thought I'd swap over the relays to see. Couldn't get the rear fog to fit into the DRL relay slot because of the little protrusion on the body of the relay itself which fouls on the plastic and prevents the relay from being inserted. Is this unique to mine??

Not sure, just use the horn relay. They're the same.

Is yours a "new" High spec with the BRZ style boot spoiler? When looking at the wiring it's got 8 wires from the harness side but if you unclip the headlight's plug you'll see 7 or 8 on the headlight side.

Mine is the older Hi-Spec. I removed the headlight plug and it turns out I only have six connectors on the headlight side itself, so not going to get the DRL's to work no matter what I do with the relays. Just out of curiosity I tried the horn relay and it's the same - the plastic protrusion won't allow it to fit into the DRL relay slot in my particular fusebox.

Oh well, next challenge is to try to source one of those centre armrests with the opening lid - my local Toyota dealer say it's an invalid part number.

Damn! Weird that you've only got 6 wires though. The horn relay isn't a perfect fit but I got it in. You can hear it clicking when DRL supposed to switch on and off but obviously the power is going nowhere.

Whoa! Hold on...I'm very new to this car, was also wondering why there isn't DRL.

I got my 86 last week Saturday.
So it would be great if someone can post a picture on the wires and how to "relay" it.
I have the new High-Spec model.

Thanks

Hi

Congrats on the new car. No pic needed, just check the relay locations on the back of the fusebox cover in the engine and pull the horn relay out and fit it in the DRL relay's empty slot.
