No seat belt.

The one thing i mostly hate about Toyota is that annoying beep reminding me to put my seatbelt on!
Is there a fuse for this or anyway i can turn that off?
I know its illegal but ill be sure and remember not to give a cop a ride in my car.

You won't hear it beeping if you drive it in to a wall without your seatbelt on. There was a guy selling his OEM seatbelts in classifieds, why not buy and you can cut off the buckle and plug it in when you drive.

Internet is a bad place to ask these type of questions because everyone is a saint and every "safety" feature on a car will save your life daily. I asked how to disable DRLs and a slew of ZOMG WHY PUT YOURSELF AT RISK post ensued.

I assure you this will not be very different.

I hate the beeping as well, I've never subscribed to the idea of "seatbelt first, then start the car". I do ALWAYS wear my seatbelt, but I don't put it on until I get close to a an actual road. Don't know why, but that's where my OCD habit has formed. Driving through my neighborhood street at 15mph or in a parking lot, I leave it off.

Is the beep coming from the gauge cluster or the speakers?

If it's coming from the gauge cluster you could try covering the speaker with some electrical or foam tape, or remove the speaker.

I was so tired of the beeping in my Pontiac Vibe (Corolla/Matrix Twin) that I removed the speaker, and I have been living beep free ever sense. Here's the thread I made detailing the mod.
http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/vie...p?f=28&t=25922

Edit: Disclaimer : I always wear my seatbelt when driving. Just don't need my car beeping at me while I get it started.

This isn't about not wearing the seatbelt, we can all agree that's a dumb idea. The seatbelt is fine. Its about disabling the chime. Disabling the chime may have some stretch of illegality. You CAN have one without the other and still be a safe driver. Geez.

You would have to actually remove the little speaker that makes the chime. My old corolla had a buzzer that was annoying as hell. i was doing some work on the car that required me to have it running and that buzzer just kept buzzing. I just reached up under the drivers side dash, found the box and unplugged it. I

I know, everyone is so righteous. They remind me of obnoxious non-smokers. For the record, I'm not a smoker.
