Well, congratulations to Nico Rosberg for putting in the mediocre drive he needed in order to secure his place alongside his father in the list of least talented world champions (the others being Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve).

Also, the team orders at the end was bullshit. They had already both the WCC and WDC in the bag, just let the drivers battle it out on track ffs.

The whole season would have been saved in my ends if Nico had just wrecked into Lewis T1 a la Senna/Prost. Gets bonus points since Senna is Lewis's hero

People will forget this season in 5 years. But that would be talked about for 25

Everyone is talking Walrein or whatever for his seat...

I bet Bottas.

Edit: just read some rumor monger article speculating buying out Bottas from Williams and propping up Wahlrein into a Williams ride as a replacement, with Massa likely willing to take a paycut to stay in at least a semi-competitive ride it looks like a relative win for Williams to keep pace with the technical changes by putting money into the car.

Hummm,,,,, will they go with an older experienced driver,, or a younger one. I say the latter,,,, Max Verstappen for the win!!!!! He'd keep Lewis on his toes.

THIS quote gets the "back handed compliment of the year award" for 2016! LOL.

Hamilton will get a solid #2 driver, not a particularly good or fast driver- someone who can come in second in the fastest car on the track, but can't challenge Lewis. Watch for a new Rubens to take that seat.

With Alonso's luck, he's gonna go to Mercedes and they're gonna have a dog of a car next season. I can't take any more pain, please make the right decision Fernando

Nah, that's just Merc stirring shit up. I'd bet a former champion is lower down the list than Pascal or a mid-fielder.

They have the opportunity to free up $30+ million dollars and dump it into the car, I'd be surprised if they doubled down on 'two top drivers' by buying out Alonso, Vettel, Ric, Verstappen, or a big name outsider. Better odds with someone 'past their prime' in Raikkonen, Button, Massa, maybe Hulk, they should all be relatively cheap but a good chunk of change would be spent on contract buyout and Schumacher didn't exactly work any magic for them.

Mid-fielder is a safe bet if they don't have confidence in Pascal (hell maybe they do). I didn't realize Massa was retiring, that kind of puts a damper on a Bottas deal, Williams needs a steady hand more than most it seems, but they've taken the money in the past, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them do it again.

Sadly, you're probably right. It will probably be Wehrlein or Bottas, boring in either case.

Alonso would be epic.
Ricciardo would be another good scenario, and not just for the Merc battle -- Sainz gets promoted to RBR and Gasly to STR.

Didn't alonso have a clause in his contract at one point that he couldn't be partnered with Hamilton?

It'd be insane for Merc to even consider Alonso, he's been a cancer at every team he's been on and has a proven track record with Hamilton. Plus he's washed up IMHO
