I'm not happy with my shifter and transmission. hoping it'd help fix this and obviously to shorten the throw I got the TWM Performance shortshifter. had one for my Mazda 3, loved it so much!
With the frs, major thing that still bugs me is the shifting especially 1 to 2, 2 to 1.... even though I installed the thickest washer I could find I still do have some looseness. I wonder how the JDM compares to TWM...

@Trap63 would I have to jack up the car and replace anything from under the body to install the STI shifter? (Noticed Kartboy shifter requires replacing a spring and shifter bushing from under the floorpan.)

I hate to ask the noob question but here I go.
If i buy this https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/42170, is it as simple as taking old shifter out and installing new one, or do I need new springs? I'd get my mechanic to do it. When it comes to shifters, I don't have much knowledge in the area. Appreciate the help! Edit: I want to add that I live in Australia. I've been looking at where to purchase some mtec Springs but have had no luck. Best place I can find is their site. Last edited by gMit; 01-07-2016 at 07:35 AM. |
