I don't know of a good windshield place, but you might want to consider paying out of pocket. It won't be too much more than your deductible, and it won't affect your insurance at all. When I was questioning my insurance about windshield claims, they were less than forthcoming about whether it would or would not affect my premium. I believe her words were "Well, any claim might affect your premium..."

Yeah my advice is not to go through insurance for a windshield. Out of pocket would be the best option...

Unfortunately I ain't got the answers for options.

based on this other thread, a replacement will cost at least $500...
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26087

I would see if you can reduce your deductible for windshield replacement... (unless it's prohibitively expensive) it does happen a lot (every one of my cars has had to have a windshield replacement at some point in its life).

Also try and get OEM replacement. I got aftermarket windshields on both my Lexus and Subaru, and while I can't say whether it is due to the windshield or the installation work involved, both added increased wind noise inside the cabin after replacement.... My insurance will only pay for the aftermarket (cheaper) replacement and OEM is usually a lot more (I'm starting to think, for a good reason).

Because insurances like Allstate have that as part of their comprehensive policy - or basically if you still owe money on your car... you have that policy.
Allstate will pay I think up to $150 - $200 for a windshield replacement and you pay the difference.
It won't raise your rates.

If you buy the windshield outright it's an easy $300-$450 in NorCal.

Sheesh Kitty, a $250 windshield deductible?!? That sucks.

I did mine through USAA insurance and they used Safelite. It was about $500 without deductible. At least they were able to do it while I was at work. Our windshields are more prone to break because we don't have a rubber gasket bordering around the glass like other cars do.

I had mine done by Safelite in SJ off Steven's Creek, near Falafel Drive Inn, hmmmmm.

I have AAA though and only paid $75. Didn't effect my premium or anything. Just called AAA told them which freeway I was on, direction of travel, and time. Then made an appt with Safelite. I was in & out a little over an hour. This was about a year ago

Good Luck with your search!
