The spool on this gtx2863r is simply nutty on the street. It takes literally no throttle to wanna go NOW. It's as if there really is no such thing as driving in vacuum anymore haha.
What size housing did you pair the gtx2863r with if you don't mind me asking?

The turbine housing is a stainless steel Tial v-band A/R: .86

Sorry I have been slow to respond. I have been in the shop working on some other projects. I think @diss7 may have asked that as well and i forgot to get back to him.

header clearance issue

To those of you that have fitted the UEL header - did you have any clearance issues? have a look at the pic below and you can see that mine us touching the block.

My installer is telling me he can make a small indentation in the header pipe to clear it as it's only just touching but not sure what to do. In fairness Jesse has said he'll ship me another one its just I'm in the UK and what with the time this will take to reach me my garage are flat out busy and need my install done and out the way.

What gaskets are you using? I'm ising some Sti ones that are thinner than stock (unintentionally) and mine is fairly close but doesn't appear to be touching. However I am also using an EL.

You could have him make the indentation for clearance, which will probably have negligible effects on performance, so they can finish up and get your car out of the way, and then you can probably tackle swapping the heading yourself when you receive the replacement.

It should easily break 300+HP on pump gas with a good flowing exhaust considering how high our compression is. I have two cars I am putting on the dyno at the end of the month that bought the kit turbo so I can get some numbers. Most of us upgraded because we have unrational goals. I personally have a built engine so the kit turbo is a tad small to match up with my engines potential.
You can borrow some of my 93 octane, Nelsmar.

I'm torn between SC and turbo, but turbo is sooooo fun. My goal is 300-320 whp and I think that is a pretty reasonable number without putting a lot of stress on the engine/tranny. This kit is right up my alley.

No problems at all here with my UEL. Make sure your installer did not torque the front nuts first when installing the manifold. The middle ones should be snugged then the two outers (front/back) to get an even torque on all 6 nuts. After they are snug then torque. The fronts of the gaskets will compress unevenly if not done the way I mentioned and that little bit of compression will be amplified at that particular section. I have used both stock gaskets and Grimspeed MLS style thick gaskets with no problems. My personal final TQ. is 40 ft/lbs, stock is like 20-21 ft/lbs.

Intercooler and oil cooler fitment from the front with bumper on and off. The foam bumper inside the fascia is still used and intact. Perhaps in the future I will move the oil cooler to the right side since there is a ton of room there but frankly the intercooler is efficient enough even with the oil cooler there that the IAT at the output side has dropped dramatically at about the 75% mark of the core which really for this power range seems to be dead on for an intercooler of this size even without the oil cooler there. The space between the intercooler and the oil cooler is every bit of a couple inches.

91 Octane 10ish psi w/ very conservative timing.

E85 (was at 72%) 14-12 psi again w/ very conservative timing.

Garrett GTX2863R Ceramic coated on the Tial .86 Turbine housing and wrinkle coated on the compressor housing.

Underside shot with the UEL and all hot parts ceramic coated. Tial MV-S Wastegate.

JDL 3" Over pipe and 3" front pipe back to a 2.75" Greddy EVO 3

Here is a shot of the engine bay with the JDL setup. Personally it comes off as super clean to me. The Vortech I had before this was a tuff one in my opinion to top the cleanliness of it in the bay but this is even simpler and equally, if not better looking in there from a visual standpoint.

This pic was taken yesterday while I was re-routing the front PCV line so that is the line you see coming out of the engine bay and draped over the front bumper. The CAI is not coated as it is being tested right now so that if any changes need to be made I can without messing up the coating.

It's a PTP Lava series blanket. The size is T3.

The Lava series is by far the most heat resistant compared to the other options they have but it does come with some extra cost.
