Very clean imo.

That's amazing! It's in really good shape for it's age!

Plus, they might get that agreement to where it can be street legal as long as you only drive it 2,500 miles a year. That seems low, but that should be enough to take it to C&C and on spirited drives.

First thing I'd do is get rid of that restrictive factory exhaust (that's actually been known to cause issues with the turbos) and throw an HKS cannon on there!

Midnight Purple paint looks pretty good as well in the photos, but imagine how good you could get it looking with a proper detailing.

Damn, I really want this car! I still think Bayside Blue is a better color for the R34 though!

I didn't think any RB engine in a skyline was ever tested to US emissions standards so 0% chance of street legality in California except for a handful that got through years ago and are grandfathered in.

Show and display needs to be approved in a per model basis, only special editions of the R34 have been allowed and the R32 Nismo. A regular GTR is currently not approved. I'm not sure how show and display plays with California regs, probably easier to just register out of state at which point might as well skip show and display.

And for the cost... Man you can buy a really nice car for that money, or several cars that are what the skyline is valued at everywhere else.

No shit, in stop-and-go traffic on the way home today I crept along an import skyline of the same vintage. I was in the right lane so I looked over to him and said "Hey! you're on the wrong side."

He said "Ha! Actually I'm on the right side."

The end.

That place will assist in getting cars CARB compliant. However, cost is between 4k to 10k just for that.

My understanding as I researched it years ago was that if the engine was never sold in the US meeting CARB standards you didn't have a chance in hell at getting past that lab, but I can find no evidence that this is an actual requirement, so what the hell maybe you're right, but I didn't get a good feeling when I rang the lab up to ask them some questions, I've heard they're bitter folk down there...

I was looking at E30 wagons, lots of 320i wagons in Europe but the M20B20 was never sold here, swapping to a 325is M20B25 power train + emissions was the easy way to go since it was basically plug and play, so I wasn't paying much attention to how to get a Euro engine to pass. I went and looked at one in Benicia but the 2.5 had spun a rod bearing and I didn't have the cash to pull it all together and get it legalized without the guy practically giving it away.

I want to say some modifications are done and the process if very long. With that said, I didn't look into it too much since I didn't want to be tempted to buy a true JDM import. Lol.

Super random question but has anybody in the area installed Valenti *sidemarkers*.

Not taillights, not third/fourth brake light.

The sidemarkers.

I got my pair yesterday and I'm having issues where at least one side's not able to plug into the part that needs to twist, if that makes sense.

It looks like the inner diameter is wrong on the valenti piece (too small) and would need to be shaved down.. which.. I'd prefer not to do, not to mention I'm not able to do that myself:

The other side was able to be twisted in? I'm assuming since it's not using the bulb housing (since it has a board of LEDs), it doesn't need to be twisted in. Just plug it into the bulb socket and pop the side marker in. Sucky part is it might rattle a little (the wires, not the actual side marker). Probably won't hear it if it does.
