@midnight23 are you having oil temp issues? We only really have problems canyoning or tracking...

Looks like a smallish unit. I am guessing the ducting plays a major role in its efficiency? Where does the air escape after going through it? Just the conventional path through the radiator?

Thanks for the preview!

Thanks for the preview!
Conventional path partially through and partially around the radiator; the stock air guide is deleted, so some of the air can escape around the radiator, but that also allows air to flow through the oil cooler. Basically, about 30% of the air going through the front bumper opening is directly ducted to the oil cooler, so it gets good flow.

It certainly works.

That brings up a good point...ducting plays a huge role in any sort of temps whether it be coolant or oil. Just throwing a cooler in front of where air goes isn't the same as surrounding it by ducting to really force the air into it.

Track Day Update...

We are down at NJMP Today and it's not ridiculously hot ambients.

Hit 275*F Oil Temps again on track after a few hot laps.
Coolant is steady at 195-200*F with the Koyo Aluminum Radiator

MUST GET our Oil COOLER INSTALLED!

Interesting. We have used them quite successfully on some big power turbo cars - do you have any pictures / details on your installs? I'm curious what was different in this instance.

Do you use restrictor/plugs in the main channel of the laminova? The cores we received and installed didn't have restrictors.

Are these turbo cars high revving? Are the turbos oil or water cooled?

3S-GTE and 2ZZ-GE - not really "high revving" on the 3S, but the 2ZZs are.

We always use water cooled turbos. I am not a fan of oil cooling only.

No, we did not use the restrictors. I wasn't comfortable with that much restriction to the main engine coolant flow on cars here in Texas.

The reason I ask is because the lower revving engines generally put out less oil heat. Now if you were using a 3SGE BEAMS and adding a turbo, you'd have some pretty major oil temp issues...

That greddy kit looks yummy. 1 or 2 rads?

I'm definitely considering the jackson racing oil cooler. But I'm debating between an exhaust or oil cooler first.

So far, it looks like I'll do a max of 6 track days a year. My heel toe is slowly getting better, so as time goes on, I'm sure I'll push harder and harder.

@CSG Mike

Will you guys be at the AROSC for Buttonwillow on the 27th and 28th? Would love to see that CR S2000, and your BRZ shop car!

Which CR? And which S2000? We have multiple :p

We'll be at Buttonwillow on the 30th.

Do you want to sound fast or keep the oil cool? :p
