Can forum members come out to the event and run with the group and not compete for points? I want to try and do 4-5 hpde per year. Also would an OEM+ oil cooler count? I am guessing no

Anybody can come out and join us! There's no pressure if you decide to/not to participate for points. Most of us take it pretty casually and it's not as super serious or competitive as it may seem. I know when I first joined it seemed a bit intimidating but really it's not. I promise we don't bite

What do you mean by an OEM+ oil cooler? Like one off another Subaru model (Forester XT oil cooler)? If so, I wouldn't recommend them as they're insufficient for track use compared to other aftermarket options available. Personally I use the Jackson Racing oil cooler. The Greddy oil cooler is good too.

Yeah it's the OEM cooler that found on the WRX etc.. I was hoping with this plus a bit thicker oil this would suffice for the occasional track day. I would monitor temps with my torque app and phone.

Everyone is encouraged to join and meet up with 86CUP members. While the talk on the internet looks savage and tough, everyone in the group that actually participates are fairly nice individuals competing casually in the series. It is a gentleman series put together by generous individuals in the committee receiving zero perks or kickback for their contribution. As a result, the series is all about making sure people have fun and improve their overall driving awareness and skill set.

Hope to see you out there and have fun especially with all the new goodies you got for Christmas!
