Timtamtt's whiteout FR-S
"Please don't start that whole argument about "FORM FUNCTION STANCE POSITIVE SCRUB RADIUS blah blah blah." I don't want to hear it. I just wanted to share some pictures to show what other people are doing out there. Just appreciate it. Let's forget the bickering."
THE STORY (or you can not read this and skip to the pics, your call) I just got my license and I was in need of a car. I picked up an RSX base premium (auto) a couple years ago and the main reason I bought it was that it was 1000$ with 136,xxx miles on it. Had it for a couple months then crashed it into a pole. I fell asleep at the wheel, it sucked. I was without a car for about a year and finally after i graduated high school and I got a job at an auto repair shop. I also was working as a waiter at a restaurant. So with two sources of income I was living comfortably, especially since I still lived with a parent which meant I didn't and still don't have to worry about food and rent... for now haha. But anyways in my garage sat a non-running 1992 toyota pickup. Five speed and it had a 22re in it. So my friends and I got it a new battery and pulled the injectors and got them cleaned, put in a new starter, yadayadayada and a bunch of other things here and there. Now i have myself a good runner and a form of transportation to school (technical school to further my career as an auto tech). While going to school, I kept my jobs and just kept myself busy. I ended up saving enough to buy a 08' tC off my dad. Had that for a while and then decided I should get rid of the tC because I wanted something a little less... I dunno, feminine? So i thought of my options. At the time I was thinking about 4 different options: Eighth gen civic si sedan, evo 9, sti, and of course an frs. I decided against an evo and sti because i wanted a car that didn't have a high possibility of being beat on by previous owners. So I was down to an eight gen and the frs. I looked at a 2011 NHBP si and it was nice. I really liked the sedan because i was sick of having people climb all over the car. But after i saw the price tag, I thought it was kind of overpriced for a civic. $23k for a 2011 si with 23,xxx. I then said "Oh why don't I just pay 4 more grand and get a brand new car with basically 0 miles?" So i ended up driving the tC some more and kept saving. I finally saved enough to have a big down payment. So on my August 30th, 2012 I went to toyota and ordered an FR-S. No dealer upgrades except for the 200$ for whiteout. If I'm gonna be paying this much for a car, I'd be damned if it wasn't the color I wanted. So the wait began. Finally I get a call and I pick up my brand new FR-S on 11/13/12. Traded in the tC with $7000 cash on top. I owed about 10000 on 11/13/12. Almost done paying it off! :woot: Insurance is killer though. 377$ a month!! It sucks but so worth it, and when I get older and get married it'll drop more which I look forward too Moving onto... Love the look! how much are you dropped so far?
Edit: is it still possible to drift being stanced like that? Not sure if I want to be going for a drift or a stanced set up. Last edited by Enraged21; 06-28-2013 at 07:49 AM. |

$377 a month for insurance?!? Man I would look into getting a student discount (not much but every little bit helps) and also maybe piggybacking off of your parent's insurance if possible.
As far as the "stance" I love the white on white, but imagine the ride is harsh with the 215/35. Not trying to cause an argument, just sayin. Ever considered something a tad bigger, maybe even just a 225/40? And since no one has asked yet... What is your camber at F and R ? |
