Dumb question but I need an answer please

So I pressed the button in the trunk of my brz that locks the trunk and now I can't open it. Figured that by putting rear seats down I could press the button again. Problem is I CANNOT figure out how to put the seats down. Both of the buttons are pushed in all the way and I can't figure out how to unlock them! Help please

Unlock the trunk with your key then press the trunk lock button that's inside. Everything should work normally after that.

There is a physical key inside your key fob. Press the recessed button on the side to release it.

Yeah I did that. Didn't unlock my trunk still. Tried twisting it in there and it would not unlock. Figured I can just put my seat down and press the Button again

The lock may be stiff, but try the key in it again. It will turn.

The catches for the rear seat are INSIDE the trunk. You can't lower it from inside the car.

What @extrashaky said. Mine was pretty crisp since it was a brand new car with a key cylinder that was never used.

With new keys sometimes you gotta jiggle or it get it just right due to the key and pins being so new. Once you used it a few times it should be easier.

I didn't know there was a lock within the trunk o.O

Anyway make sure both of the buttons are held down as you pull it down. If you don't hold it down, sometimes they pop back up. Cause really that should be it.

edit: they were rods, pulling up. My bad. I got confused cause you called them buttons :/

This is a feature so that you cannot get in your trunk without the physical key. I use it all the time when leaving 3-4k worth of items in my vehicle in places that it could potentially get broken into. You can only fold down the seats from within the trunk, if you could do it from the front this feature would be completely pointless.

Use the physical key on the trunk lock, it's a bit difficult to turn but will work. It pushes in pretty much until the little shoulder on the key touches the trunk and turns clockwise.

you can pull up the rod that's in the back seat to fold down the seats. It's located on top of the seat, at each side next to the seat belt strap. Remove the plastic housing then you'll see a red rod. Pull both sides up then fold the back seats.

Zen. I never knew you could move that plastic piece the way you did to show those buttons. My buttons are just pressed down firmly and the plastic wouldn't budge when I tried yesterday.
