Not other local BRZ/FRS owners who might be able to help you out there?

Thanks for the offer. I'm still "trying" to keep her stock. At least till I break her in. LOL

Where is the best place to get a pulley at the best price? I noticed a lot of locked threads in the vendor section. Who's got the goods?

Is it a bigger difference in throttle response with the M/T? I have an automatic and want to get one of these...

Having not driven an MT with or with out the crank pulley I can't make a direct comparison. But there is a definite improvement in my AT with the pully.

The two mods I've made are the pulley, and a K&N drop in air filter. Before like many of us have seen I didn't start to really feel good power until about 5000 RPM. Now I start to feel the power closer to 3500 and it's much more of a progressive feel rather then the sudden rush of power when you near 5000 RPM.

Just installed mine last night. Car has 1400 miles. The first thing I noticed is the idle-dip is completely gone. The idle is smooth and the car revs / responds to throttle input much better.

I wouldn't say there's huge gains or anything but it really feels like someone took 100lbs off of the car and let it rev a little better.

Very impressed with this simple mod. Install was easier than most anything I have ever done.

A side note: removal and installation of a crank pulley on this car is EASY. It's a 5 minute job if you're flying. The torque spec makes it much less hassle than say my .. 1JZ-GTE which is like 2.5 times the tq and requires a puller. Other than spark plugs, the FA20 is a joy so far to work on.

You torque it to 14.5 lbs and then turn it another 90 degrees. Comes out to about 95 lbs.

turn to 14lbs then just tighten to 85. it's not an exact science. make sure you oil the bolt a bit

I dont have any tools to install it and toyota service said that they would charge me around 200 to do it. Anybody know if any regular mechanic can do it and about how much they would charge? 200 seems kinda crazy considering the parts less than $100

Should take a half hour. So $50 at the most. I would do it for beer and pizza. Or maybe just beer...

Takes 10 minutes. What a rip-off. You should get someone to do it, take a video, and then show the d1ckhead who quoted you $200
