I'm 56 and just got my series.yellow this year. I'm the oldest BRZ/86 owner I've met so far. The young guys look at my supercharger and drool. I love the looks of envy I get from middle age dads in their mini vans and SUVs.

My wife says I'm as old as I think I am. She adds that sometimes it's 35 sometimes it's 25 and sometimes it's 15.

Vintage 1954 owner here. My 2014 rebadged FR-S is a source of unparalleled enjoyment almost every day. Have owned it for 6 months, done a number of 400 to 800 mile road trips, and made several dozen mods and upgrades. Not since I got my 1984 Corvette new have I had so much fun with a car.

It's not just the SUV's

Running boosted at around 270hpatw and coming in at 1250 ish kg, these things are a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I've upset alot of the local WRX and STI guys who see a twin next to them as a easy win.

Currently my 86 makes simular peak power to my tuned 2015 STI, only with 230ish kg less weight and a big flat torque all the way through to redline.

I'm not old, I just smell like burnt rubber.

The week before the install a was almost beat by a 4wd Dodge Ram with a diesel pulling a trailer.

I did the Edlebrock kit I highly recommend it. If you’re around central Ohio I’m happy to help. Only 10 hour on the second install on my buddies car.

Only 52? You're still just a kid, I've got more than a decade on you.

If you haven't done it already, take a BRZ/86 for an extended test drive. Then go back and do it again a week later. I liked it the first time, but the second test drive was what sealed it. You might get the same 'yeah, this is it' confirmatory feeling I did (or you might decide it's not for you).

If you like it, go for it. Life is short. For most people, they get to a point in life where it's not fun anymore (or they're just not able) to climb down in and up out of a low, small sports car, and no longer fun to row your own gears. I hope for myself that day is still down the road, but I know it'll come. Enjoy it now.

Great advice, and you're absolutely right. I like the 2x test drive idea. Thank you.
