FR-S pre-ordered ! but ...

Hi,

Hi to all!

I recently pre-order/reserved a FR-S at my dealership (Montréal region) wohoo!. We agreed on a depot and condition were I can walk off with my depot if I don't like the car (less likely to happen but not rich to the point to risk 25k on a car! ). So that part is rather good news.

But I didn't argue with the price, my feel was that since the fr-s gonna be produced in limited numbers and the demand seems rather good the dealership would not need to lower price....

For exemple out of 4 units allocated to the dealership... 1 was already sold, 1 was reserved + mine.
I hoped to argue a bit on the price of my exchange car but then again...
I was wondering if the feel that my dealership was in a position were he didn't had to lower the price because he know that these 4 car will go fast was correct or I should try to play the game a bit ?

Thanks!

I doubt that without participating in a group buy you would get anything off MSRP given those vehicle numbers at the dealer. Maybe in 6 months to a year. No harm in asking though, although it sounds like it might be too late for that.

Yes, the dealership is in a very good position at the moment. You are lucky that Scion is charging the advertised MSRP and not inflating it.

it's a brand new car with ridiculous hype

you'll just have to bite the bullet if you want it new.

All right. At least you guy confirm my impression. And honneslty i'm not pretty good at dealing so I guess i'll see. honneslty i was kinda happy that the dealer did agree to a refundable depot... not that i wish to use it but that does leave me a door open if for some reason i get mixed feeling with the car...

and then i would have to go buy a veloster turbo or a fiat Abarth... but i'm pretty sure it wont be necessary

You are actually right. But abarth seems like a fun "kart" car. Very light and still some hp... And my girlfriend sure loved that idea . Would like to try it for sure but would be my final choice i'm pretty sure...
