There's a lot of factors in on this, of course, but overall...I just think they did a garbage job of promoting this car in the US.
You're talking about just the 240s, I was talking about the S30's entire production from 1970 until 1978.

EDIT: I just reread what you meant. Either way, any 4-year span of the S30's sales, you're still gonna see more of them than ours.

Z's North American production numbers, and I remembered incorrectly. Only one year of the sales/production is greater than total sales of FR-S sales - 1978. Though that number kept going up through the life of the Z car.

1978, Nissan Motors USA reported 62,699 sales.

I want to point out that that's 9 years in, but even then... :/

We should talk in person. I've been thinking about this for a while. At least, the "Why?" component.

Count me in. Can you keep it to $300. If they price it lower than others, they would sell more units.

Absolutely 0% chance of them being 300. As mentioned, they'll be in the 500-600 range.

I have never found any reliable data on world wide sales. It is probably higher than people think.

I spent some time on this as well and founds sites such as focus2move that have the data but you have to purchase it. In fact, if the car was in the top 100 models we could get the worldwide figures from their site.

I did find the Europe and US sales at a site that I don't have the bookmark for with me. They also showed China, but there were no sales listed. Below is what that site had. That leaves out some pretty large markets though, including the Mothership.:

Even the Europe is pretty suspect. I recall number way higher than that on one site. Unless that does not include GB.

It may not. it's been a while since I did this, and now I can't find the site again.
