I got my header and over pipe back from ceramic coating. With the hood vents, gold tape and coating I hope this is the end of my overheating coil packs. (Crossed fingers)

I'm curious to see if that gold tape helps. I was running into overheating coil packs (esp #2) even with the stock header.

When my coil pack overheated I started doing some research on the issue. There are posts on this forum of people saying that the tape alone solved the coil pack issues. If you choose to believe that or not is up to you. I also installed Verus hood vents and ceramic coated the header for some additional insurance.

Just got back from Watkins Glen with NASA. Everything went really well. (No coilpacks overheating YAY!) The car is basically the same as last season except some tweaks to the alignment and the small additions I already posted about. I added a 1/32" of toe out for the front and 1/16" toe in for the rear. Adding toe in the rear seamed to aid in the battle against the rear end wiggle while braking while adding some corner stability.
I am still testing the YCW Engineering Reference Series coilovers and they continue to impress. For a street based coilover they really hold their own on the track. I am also still on the same Maxxis RC1 tires as last year. I stored them in my heated shop over the winter and they continue to perform at an amazing level despite being a year old with more than 10 HPDE days on them.

Would you mind giving some input on the IRP shifter? I have had issues with almost going into 2nd instead of 4th and have hit 5th instead of 4th while shifting under stress with the stock setup. Is the feel of the IRP good enough that you can tell if you are messing up a shift? My concern was the shorter action would make for less of a margin of error.

I took the instructor clinic with NASA at NJMP Lightning this past weekend and now I am officially an instructor! I had 2 students the next day. One HPDE 1 student in an LS 240sx and a HPDE 2 student in a pretty stock BRZ. I had a great time with both students and even improved on my personal best time and ran a 1:18.44.

I hit 40,000 miles on the way home from work. They definitely haven't been easy miles but she has treated me well for all of them.

I found some pictures of me sliding around at autocross. I knew the Maxxis RC1s were not going to be any good and the DTC60s weren't going to work all that well but sliding around some cones was fun. Getting beat by 4-5 well-prepped twins wasn't so much fun. Needless to say, I will be purchasing another set of RPF1s and 200tw rubber real soon in hopes to redeem myself.

Spec13's Motorsports issue of Apex Auto Magazine finally came out! All of our cars are on the cover and we have a 5 page article! Pretty cool to see your own car in a magazine.
