As I mentioned in a different thread, if you don't want to deal with the NVH of race car parts on a street car.

Don't run race car parts on a street car. There really isn't anyway around it.

I've been saying this multiple times a day for the past several years.

Thats why i only hounded you and Mike about the issue for about a week. After that i knew it was just the price of admission. Its funny, how people will say to me at the track "man your brakes are really squealing, you sure you wanna run today". But no one asks me that after the event when they see how well the car moves on the track or thru cones.

I have this same problem even with ferodo ds2500. After our session at DDT, noise was virtually gone. A few days later, it's starting to creep back in.

Well your setup, despite how little it has, has more speed unlocked than most setups out there. It's all about proper setup. On another note, proper bed-in and those Carbotechs are quiet.

Proper bed-in does wonders.

So what are you saying, like i'm an idiot, that i dont know how to properly bed brakes. Well I got something to tell you. The evidence does seem to support your theory. So i guess you may be right. Damn.

Thanks David.

It's funny cause i have bedded carbotechs before, but not on a BRZ. But I will be switching to a Sprint kit, and selling my Endurance kit soon(yes, i am aware CSG recommended the Sprint kit first and i didnt listen). I hope that may help. Though now i am kinda getting used to the squeal, may even miss it.

I am running similar Gloc10 in front and xp10 in the rear. I replaced the front rotors this year as well before the Mosport GP OTA school. I get a bit of tweeting at speed, but! i find the Gloc's much quieter around town braking than when I had the XP10's up front. Oh I also am not running the shims up front, but they are installed in the rear.

When I bedded the Gloc's in I got things hot enough to see a little smoke.. hoping I didn't go too far... Next pad swap (next spring) I will look into replacing all the hardware as well while I am at it.

How many km do you have on the hardware? I thought about replacing it too but everything looks pretty good for 100k km.

Wanted to chime in and say I had the same issues with the GLOC R12 and R10 (F/R) on my Supra. I tried bedding them in on the first session but damn near caused some pile ups so had to back off. Jamming on the brakes to unnatural turn-in speeds was dangerous enough even when I had some room behind me. People caught up quick. And then I couldn't get enough heat in them with having to wait around for traffic to pass, the distance between braking, zones, etc. I'll bed on the back roads next time.

Anyway the R12 and R10 had the same rotational death chirp as described by the OP in street driving and awful squealing while braking softly. I had to brake hard to get no squeal. The second I threw on some GS1 pads (their street compound), zero noise.

But why would you want to get rid of that sound?

Whenever I hear that squeal, Im like "Yea, race car bro... "

Gotta make it known to everyone around me. Doesn't matter if Im grabbing gas, groceries, or rolling up to a meet... Everyone's gotta know that I track my shit.

All the people here complaining about squeals. Is there anything wrong with letting them squeal? You go thru the trouble of bedding them (using up more pad material and heating up the rotors) just to have them go back to squealing a few days later? I stopped bedding in my pads, I havent had problems since, other than they are obnoxiously loud, except after a track day, where they are quiet for a good 2-3 days.
