The JZ engine?

Instead of partnering with Subaru, why didn't Toyota just make the gt-86, fr-s , with the Toyota JZ engines?

They wanted to build a car with the lowest centre of gravity possible.

The boxer engine allows them to do this.

Would you rather have 80's technology in a car that would then be priced of 30k? or would you have current technology priced at a reasonable 25k?

1JZ and 2JZ are both outdated heavy iron block engines thats inefficient and can't even comply with current emission standards

Because the car would be a fat ass!! This car is meant to handle if you want straight line power go buy a chevy or ford.
