Are there any unmolesteRed 88-95 Honda Civics (Si's)?
The rarest of the rare cars ever. Ever since the Fast And Furious movies came out and kids started putting Fart cans on theirs cans. I cannot recall the last time I saw a Honda Civic Hatchback, circa 88-91, not screwed with nx with the original wheels. I dont even know when I remember seeing an SI badge... where have they all gone, seriously, in So Cal they dont exist and something in stock trim is rare.

Most take off the SI badge so it's there when they wake up in the morning.

I have a friend here in MN who bought a clean 94 Civic Si from California last spring. Everything is stock and mint with 48k miles on it. He plans on keeping it that way. One day I will own one hehe.

Rarest of the rare? Hardly. Rice, rust, theft, and wrecks take out many a old jap cars; hondas especially.

There is no 1988 Civic Si...only CRX. 1989 was the first year the EF had the Si in that body style. However the 88 had the passive rear steering same as the JDM EFs, and the DC2R (in the states)

With the 88 to 91 Civic Hatchback Si's and the Si wheels, i just miss the hell out of them. I remember before the 92s even cams out and we were trying our damndest to squeeze every bit of power out of those engines. Miss the day seeing the brand spanking new Civic Hatchback with the original wheels. Those dame wheels are so rare. |

Wouldnt you believe it. Yesterday while farting around town I saw an 89-91 Si. It was real too. Just lowered and "Rice-A-Fied". Pitty. I want a Pristine 89-91 Si. Talking Pebble Beach Concourse Level car.

That is the style Si I grew up with and I like the most. When I wrecked my car in 1999, 1989 Oldsmobile Cutless Sierra, I was looking for an Si, Civic Hatchback or CRX, didn't matter. I ended up with an 88 Prelude Si with 4ws. Never did anything to that Prelude, never really had the money then. It was tough finding the style or specific car I, or you, wanted up in Bakersfield even though it is technically only 111 miles North up Interstate 5 from it. If I lived in LA there would be no problems an Si of any Verity.
You'll see in 30 years on the the new versions of the show "Chasing Classic Cars" you'll see Wayne Carini finding near mint versions of 91 Civic Si's and will freak out. What one man finds ugly another finds it just fine. Thats my top favorite Honda Civic of all time. Go ahead, make your jokes and point and laugh at me. When we first got into customizing these cars was when you could buy the 91 brand new off the lot. So that is what we had. My friend owned an 84 hatchback, my other friend owned an 85 S Hatchback. When it started raining, watch out. We had hoot in those little cars that could someone who is 6'5" in the front seats. Those were the days. Last edited by LBC Por Siempre; 01-30-2014 at 11:23 AM. |
