Stinks to see a beat up FRS. Good reason to get all your parts off of it to put on your new one.

From looking at the pics I'm a little confused as to how your car got hit in the right rear by the other persons left front and their car is on the other side of the road. Seems to me like their car should have been in the ditch unless I'm missing something.................unless you were parked facing the wrong way?

Ouch!
The poor young man that bough my old celica parked it out the front of his house and a big 4wd crashed into it.
There are so many people that think their new cars can avoid accidents and the cars are safe.
I am very fussy where i park mine , but the most dangerous thing is the loose nut that is supposed to drive.

GEICO will absolutely, guaranteed, pay for your mods.

When GEICO won't pay for your mods is if they are your carrier and YOU cause an accident. Because the rate you pay only covers you for OEM parts (AFAIK, GEICO no longer offers any CP&E coverage anywhere except maybe where some people may be grandfathered in). You can't pay the rate of a $25,000 car and then get into an accident and expect your insurance to cover all your stuff as if you were driving a $35,000 car. If you are at-fault in an accident, you yank everything out of it that you can because they won't pay you a dime for them and they are likely to even try to decrease their offer in the event of a buy-out because of them

But when someone hits YOU and you are clearly not at fault, the other parties insurance is required BY LAW to "make you whole" (up to the amount of coverage the at-fault party has). They will cover the full cost to replace your vehicle in precisely the same condition it was when it was hit -- aftermarket parts and all. If you had a $10,000 stereo system, they'll cover it -- as long as you can prove it was in there and what the replacement value will be. And be sure you use that same argument for why you won't pay for cheap chinese knockoff parts on your car either. Insurance will always try to buy the cheap shit, but they are required to return your car in the same condition it was in prior to the accident; and as much as they want to claim otherwise, knockoff non-OEM parts is not "the same condition".

The only time you should be worried about taking off your mods in an accident where you are not at fault is if you have a car that's near state minimum coverage replacement values. Or you have a TON of aftermarket stuff that can push your car over the state minimums. Since almost everyone on the road just has minimum coverages, your mods could put you over their coverage amount and then that could be a fight that you wouldn't want to have.

Either way, in this case, it doesn't really matter. That looks to be quite a ways from a Total.

Rear unibody damage and frame damage above the subframe and you think it won't be totalled?

It's about cost. Like I said my buddy did a estimate and it's at 13k so let's see what actual estimate is, they total a car at 75% of it's value.

Sorry for the triple-post, but since it was pouring rain and there is now no rear window, I'm going to need new interior stuff also. Did your guy factor that in as well?

That is Marginal cost wise as best maybe 1k additional

WIth 33k Miles though It would come close to the estimate of what it would need to be totaled I would say. You really want it totaled, PS let us know how much is buy back amount LOL

Buy back would be interesting; spare longblock, full chassis and engine harness, and trans might be worth something. Not if the buyback's >$5K though. Don't see it being that low.
