Catch Can Mounting Opinion

I'm planning to install a catch can, a simple generic one that didn't come with any mounting hardware (like the Radium one). Normally catch cans (pcv valve ones) get mounted right next to the battery or right in the center attached to the braces. I had an idea to drill a couple small holes into the firewall, in between the battery and the wiring harness. Then i would use some threaded rivets to mount the catch can directly to the firewall.

I have to check to see if there's anything on the other side of the firewall (AC lines, heater, etc) that I could possibly hit. Just wondering if anyone has any other ideas or opinions to this approach before I start drilling. My buddy thinks I'm nuts for wanting to drill into the firewall.

Thanks!

Racer x fabrication makes a catch can and bracket that goes around that location without needing to drill into the fire wall.

if you look at the installation guide, he basically uses a a bolt with a flange to go through the rubber grommet thats already in the fire wall for a mounting point.

hope that helps.
