Odd that his knock correction was activated on a tank of 94.

Id just switch fuels first.

The worry for me is the separationoif the Meth and the effect that has on AFRs. Have you tried this stuff from Can Tire?

http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/no...1698p.html#srp

I find it works really well. Just slightly more expensive and keeps my IAM pinned at 1.0. I run the OFT as well.

The 94 octane gas in Canada is more equivalent to 89 octane gas in the states.

I did try two bottles of stp octane booster and it did nothing for the car.

I am going to say that is bullshit. If the fuel didn't meet the standards for knock correction, petroleum companies would have huge liability when cars tuned for the claimed octane ratings sustained damage in huge numbers.

I have heard octane boosters have negligible effect on increasing octane. Unless you want to dump 10 bottles in the tank.

It is unfortunate that 94 in Ontario is 15% ethanol due to lower mileage. In BC Husky has 94 without ethanol. Perhaps that's the stuff Fab Racing is referring to since he is in BC.

This is the second time somebody here said that and both were from out west. Must be some big conspiracy that does not effect the rest of the country.
The stations are spot checked on a regular basis and if the fuel does not meet the standards there are huge fines to be paid. The TSSA is not going to let that little money maker go.

Both Canada and the US use AKI for Octane Ratings, so 94 octane should be 94 octane. Not sure what's up with your fuel that's causing it to pull timing, but have you tried changing fuel stations?

I duno about STP but for octane boosters, Lucas and Torco are the ones I most often hear good things about. I've used Lucas with 91 octane before and it runs pretty smooth.

Btw I don't think all Canadian gas is that bad. Most of the complaints are from BC like yourself. Ontario OFT users aren't reporting any problems. You just made me go outside and plug in my own OFT to double check haha. Still showing 1.00 advance multiplier. I'm running OFT 93 tune on Petro 94 Fuel (no more octane booster, just pure 94 fuel). And that's after revving the shit out of my car on my way home from work today lol

I now 3 of us here back east have the 91 tunes run anywhere from .50 to .75 IAM consistently.

LTFTs are fine.

You sound like my wife lol. Ok I haven't tested the stuff, I am going by the results showing on my oft and by comments made by Bob at drift office about our Canadian gas eh.Here is an example of some of the comments made about our gas in west Canada https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j...pEAmGpmxq_AD5A
