Polaroid Cube, A cheap GoPro alternative for multiple angles?

I wonder if anyone owned or tested these for track use and if so how satisfied with it..

I'm using the JVC Addixion GC-XA1 (bad name, I know) for all three of my cameras. Because it is an older model, I was able to get three of them for the price of one top-dog GoPro. And it records to SD cards and uses a standard camera mount and makes complete sense for the menus.

For samples, visit my thread below. You can see the horizon is a little curved, but I'm not making sponsor videos, so it doesn't bother me.

Looks nice for use as small dashcam.

Saw this comparison with Gopro HD Hero 3+ Black and for $99 you can't go wrong I think.

I think I'm going to buy half a dozen next year and just glue them to various parts of the race car. It will drive me nuts editing something from it all but should be fun to look at after a race.

What camera mount do you use, and where do you mount it?

I plan on using a standard SD-card camera as well

There is definitely a noticeable difference in quality, but for the price difference it's really not bad.

I would also look at the new bottom of the line GoPro ($129), it's comparable to the old Hero2 or Hero3 Silver spec wise, but might have better image quality.

definitely better than the Hero2 but not sure about the Hero 3 silver, I have a GoPro HERO3: Black Edition and the quality is noticeable but I think these would make nice additional cameras just for fun since they're dirt cheap compared to $400 Black edition

I use 2 RAM mounts for the side cameras. Location varies from above the rear tires to somewhere in the window behind the main door window.

For the main camera, I used to use a RAM mount on the windshield, but recently made a stick mount for the passenger seat to move the camera a little further back. I need to raise it up, but had 3 autocrosses in a row which didn't leave much time. Maybe this weekend I'll get it done, then make a "How To" thread. This mount uses one of the helmet mounts that comes with the camera though.

Stay tuned for my "How To" if I get the center one done this weekend.
