I mean if you really compare the new Supra, to the 86, FR-S, and LFA, you can see a sort of design lineage across all four cars.









You can see similarities in all of them, but most prominently, the front bumper in the 86 and Supra look very similar, both have that sort of nose bubble, and both have approximately the same shape grille opening, just the Supra has the two vertical painted parts intersecting the grille opening into three separate openings. The LFA and FR-S quite literally have almost the same front bumper design.

It is the new Toyota look. Even the Camry, Corolla and Prius have something of a droop to the nose and huge fake vents/aero with lights in them. I will say that you can tell they are all related from just a quick glance.

It's especially pronounced with the sports cars though. They all look like you could almost swap the bumpers between the four cars besides obvious dimension differences.
