There is a harness hack you can do to get pre-March 2013 TapTurn's to wig wag while driving. Basically, by interrupting the IGN line going into the TapTurn flasher module. When you do this, it thinks you're parked. If you do this things get kind of whacky because you're actually rolling and might need to use your signals... If you do use your signals (thinking you're signaling) you're not! You'd actually be programming the blink setting, which is something that's normally reserved to be doing only while car is off. However, the hack will allow you to press hazard switch on and signal right, and then it will wig wag as you drive. The more complex harness hack is to use a 4-pole double throw toggle switch wired up a certain way with that harness. This switch allows TapTurn to be "normal" while driving for signaling and tapping, then throwing the switch the other way forces a wig-wag and that's all the car will do no matter what you do with hazard switch and signal stalk. Like an override on everything, whether the car is running or not. But who wants to cut into the harness and add a switch to the car, right? The other way, is to get the "now" version of TapTurn that has a software setting you change that simply allows wig wag in motion, or not, when you put the stalk and hazards in the right positions.

Just wondering, is there a way to keep the hyper flash.. I actually love the rapid flash, I think it's much more noticeable and if I could keep it with your module that would be great

I've chosen 90 cpm (cycles per minute) as its blink rate, and slow motion flasher mode is half that, so 45 cpm. But that's not to say I couldn't do other rates. I think US DOT (dept of transportation) specifies allowable rate is from 60 to 120, I think, if I recall... Reading those regs put me to sleep. I've also chosen to keep the blink on time equal to the off time, so in other words, a square wave. But there is also no reason why it has to be this way, and I don't think the regs say much about allowable waveforms. So I could make the on/off proportions of a blink cycle different, while keeping it at 90 cpm. All this to say, or ask, what is it you like more about hyperblink: the brief burst of light, or the tight spacing, or both? Because all of these are separately tunable in a design.

I guess I like the fast bursts, and the tight spacing.. I like how it blinks about twice the speed of regular.. To me.. It's just more noticeable.. There is no "lag" between the blinks.. Just a rapid fire of blinks that catch a persons eyes.. |

Tapturn uses relays, similar to OE Denso flasher, but not identical part so the sound is generated the same way just the acoustics are a little different.
I've toyed with the notion of adding a sound maker (buzzer, whatever..) inside the tapturn unit for a more customized sound... But people generally put low need low value on such a thing so... I'm not.

Anyone have any issues with the autowindow.com website? My virus software says the site exhibits 'risky' content and gave me a warning before accessing the site.

That would be news to me. But If there is something found wrong with that site, please let me know and I can change it... PM me with your browser and virus checker software version, and anything else, thanks.

For those who own Tapturn, maybe you can weigh in on this....
I was thinking of changing the default setting to just enabling flasher modifiers (wigwag, slo mo) so you can use them not only while parked but also while driving without having you change that setting to enable while driving. Tapturn would just always allow modifiers in any situation, out of the box. And stays that way. I'm kinda wondering, who doesn't enable modifiers to work while driving? Or if they were always available there would it cause a problem?

May someone link the programming instructions please? I misplaced the instruction sheet that came with the module.
