Thank fucking God. They finally got me a vin number. The GM verified the car exists and are meeting me on Wednesday. Parts are still up in the air but he's seeing me on Wednesday to discuss it with me.

I had two get delayed at port for a while. One was just released and arrived at my dealership (Toyota Marin if you're interested, PM me). The automatic is still held hostage at port for some reason.

Can Dealers contact other Dealers outside a regional area to ship FRS RS. Will I be charged extra for delivery?

So the dealership CEOs were keeping info from my dealer. Found out my car was damaged in transit and that's why it was held up. Now because they didn't get the part in time they are caught with egg in their face. All this because I did recon on my side on the vehicle. Now to compensate me they are giving me a 1000 dollar gas card. I'm ok with this but still mad at their bosses. Pictures following.

You won't have an insurance claim on the car. Many, many cars are damaged at port, fixed, and no one knows. The same thing can happen at the factory if a bad transmission is installed and the car is kicked offline for repairs, for example. As long as the car is still owned by the manufacturer, They don't have to disclose anything until the car gets to the dealer. Hell, your RS1.0 was built as basically a stock FR-S and the suspension, exhaust, and fender garnishes were disassembled to get your lowering springs, quad tip exhaust, and TRD fender garnishes. Some states have laws that prevent a car from being sold new if it has a certain amount of damage at the dealer. I once saw an OEM buy back a car because the engine went at the dealer and the state law said that car couldn't be sold as new anymore. Sent from Tandy 400 |

Test drove my first FRS today, made a fool out of myself for stalling twice after I started a manual and told the Dealer that I was going to make the RS as my first manual car. I test drove an automatic and had my first experience with the paddle shifters and I had fun, but I felt that in the long run I would get bored but at the same time I felt that it's a necessity since my daily commute is going to be a lot of traffic. I asked about the automatic RS and they will get it later on this week, but I still want to test drive it. I also opened up the truck of the RS and holy cow it's small. My job requires me to travel and move stuff around so this going to be a huge set back.
I also inquired some financing and they do offer the 90 Day Deferral promo on the RS, but the payment is way too high for my taste since they want it on a shorter term. I feel that this type of FRS is suited best in manual way more then automatic. I just want a nice looking car that would be both a DD, personal work vehicle, and weekend warrior. In the end, I still want the car in manual because I want something different and stalling is just a learning process. Last edited by miyoshi82; 11-30-2014 at 11:53 AM. |
