New owner w/ OFT Log & A couple questions.
Hello,
Just recently acquired my brz a few weeks ago. Decided to get an OFT as my friend has one and he has no complaints. Anything will help, as it seems the car is slow enough that a city bus might put up a fight. Just put on the stage1 flash and have taken a few logs, most recent of which is here: http://datazap.me/u/joneze93tsi/14-b...data=1-9-10-12 2 things bother me, one of which seems to happen on other people's logs (throttle percentage) * Throttle percentage is not a constant. Noticed this on others logs.. Why? * Small amount of FLKC between 7000-7500. Always the same amount -0.65. Any input would be appreciated. Car seems to run great and the "torque dip" as it's referred to is no longer so apparent. |

As for your FLKC, how many miles are on this reflash? It appears to be a pretty recent reflash so I would give the trims some time to adjust and check again once you've got 50+ miles on it. AFR's look fine to me at WOT. |

Did you let the car idle the solid min before you drove off? Kit says it cuts power if you don't.

Pretty sure he wasn't asking about the same thing you are referring to.

Thanks guys.
I failed to let the car idle for a minute after the flash. Started it up, looked at the OFT, and went driving. That log is after about 1/2 a tank of fuel. Per the guide, the amount if FLKC is not "concerning" I guess, especially as the IAM is flat across the board. Would it be worth re-flashing again, and letting it idle and starting over, or is the "low power" condition self correcting after this long? Thanks, Shawn |

No sense in reflashing. The VVT system will come back on-line soon after the flash if you don't let it idle as recommended. I'm sure it's working by now. And no problem with seeing such small FLKC values. Especially at high RPM when your engine will naturally bump into minor knock/octane limitations from time to time. Cheers, Shiv |

Fair enough, you were right. I just didn't find it obvious that the throttle and flkc issues had everything to do with not allowing vvti to settle.

If you drive before vvt calibration done , the cams are in limp home mode and power is way down especially mid upper rpm , you rearly notice it. Fix is turn it off, restart let idle for a minute and your sweet. It different to the throttle initial dead spot issue, which takes a few drive cycles to sort out if you dont let it idle after reset/reflash.

I'm a newbie to the tuning world too. I did some logging today on OFT for the first time and search the forums for some comparison of what Ideal numbers should be. I have found some suggestions for comparison but nothing that would correspond to the actual tune loaded and ideal numbers. Right now Im concerned how high my Ignition Adv. numbers are. what is the norm? right now with the stage 1 1.59 tune my Ignition Adv numbers hover around 28-31. Thanks in advance.
