They would have to take 4 screws out (torx bit I believe) to get the plate off. Allen key to take off the bracket (3 bolts). Then a 3/4" socket to unscrew it from the car. More work than it's worth lol

I lived in Dallas for two years, never had a front plate on my G35 coupe. Never got stopped or even questioned about it.

In Cali it is possible to get pulled over without your front plate. (Personally it never happened to me, but it has happened to my family members)

I wish I had tried to go on without a front plate here in NY. But I caved and I installed the front plate kit.

Regret it much? Yes.

I got pulled over once because I had a smoked cover on my front plate so seriously doubt would getaway with it for long here.
There are a couple of threads on the subject on here and a pile of guys from California seem to get away with it if you believe what they say.

I was determined not to put a front plate on. Then I got pulled over and given a warning three weeks after I bought the car. Plate went on the next day with the included kit. I hate it, but I've gotten used to it now.

My FR-S comes with a matching front license plate kit for the front bumper (uninstalled), but I'm still debating whether or not I should ask the dealer to put it on when my license plates come in in the next few weeks. I risk being fined $200 for not having a front license plate if I get pulled over.

I'm leasing my FR-S, so I'm not going to lose sleep over drilling a couple holes on the front bumper, but I would love to drive it without the front license plate.

Because he is slowly learning that his posts are usually silly!
Really should have said "I posted at my own risk".
In fairness though this is the least ludicrous of the ones he has posted even if 5 minutes of searching would have found about 10 existing threads on the subject.

He's a little gun shy now. It's pretty funny. He's sticking with it, though. Gotta give him that.
