Wheww how is this thread still alive lol.

As for the sound of the car, i cant imagine why a stock car sounds so terrible at just 3k RPM. Its been a while since I had the stock exhaust but I thought it was pretty quiet at 3k or even 4k.

Buying used at 80k could come with plenty of issues. Maybe go test drive a new 86 at a dealership to compare?

I have the HKS Legamax cat-back and with the windows up, I can still carry on conversations at normal volume at 3-4k RPM.

It isn’t necessarily loud, just sounds like a car with rod knock. I have smashed bearing several times on past cars so anything that sounds like rod knock triggers panic for me. I got the car in October and I’m starting to get used to the sound. Still don’t like it though and still question if it’s normal.

Bubba suggests that you crank that puppy to about 7,000 rpms and hold it for about 10 minutes ....... that should tell you if you have a weak rod bearing ........

Right? He had a head start though... Racing at Le Mans in god damn 911's. You know they won't let any of the other cast from Top gear drive any of the really fast/expensive cars, they just aren't good enough. Like when he was drifting around a LaFerrari... drifting a LaFerrari... Then the F12 and the F12 superfast. lol.

Yet I do not envy him.

If anything it would've been lunch. I work literally 5-10 minutes away from where you guys ate.

Sounds like it was a good thing I wasn't able to come though since I would've been tempted to slap the cigarette out of your hand/mouth. Can't stand breathing in people's nasty ass second hand smoke.

If you're going to smoke tobacco, smoke cigars or nothing.
